Nar mate...managers are judged on their win percent in all comps.
Gets distorted when including cups.

We won 5 out of 7 in the LC (including pens) and we have won 4 out of 6 up to now in the FA.

Not sure how that would affect the % as can't be bothered working it out and couldn't really care if I'm being honest.

18 in 40 in all comps...45%.

If you're happy with how we're playing, best of luck to you, I'm glad you're so easily pleased. For the rest of us realists who actually care, can see we're declining rapidly and are worried about the future of our club under this atrocity of a human being, we've had our fill. We're bored, fed up, deflated. There are no signs of things getting any better next season, in fact everything points to it getting significantly worse again when we lose key players and persist with the absolute and utter charlatan in charge

With a bit of luck we could have won today. We had 3 great chances (Lukaku, jagielka 2)

United only had their goal as a reasonable goal scoring opportunity

The point I am trying to make is that football is a game of small margins. Even Louis Van Gaal said United were lucky to win.

We were not drastically bad

Now the negatives.. i sensed a certain amount of frustration amongst the players (Jags with Lukaku - infact quite a few players with Lukaku, Coleman with anyone within 20 yards of him ditto McCarthy) , we were not playing as a coherent team. We conceded to another defensive individual error (how many of these this season)...

for those negatives, its down to the manager to knuckle down and get a [Poor language removed] grip of the situation

I have used this expression to describe R Martinez, for months now. I was initially (even before the '72 points') keen on his appointment. My support started wavering around Xmas before last. Needless to say, it has now totally crashed and burned.
He pulled the wool over many eyes, did our smooth-talking Catalan-versioned Elmer Gantry.

But, he is a man of straw, a snake oil salesman indeed; massively under-equipped to be anywhere near the helm of our great club.

Problem is we have a luvvy of a chairman who is exactly like some fans who believe 5th is no different to 15th. The clown had the audacity to come out with the "what a manager" comment despite the 2 past seasons of gash performances and results.

Sooner the pair are booted out of the club the better.

Despite all the doom and gloom, I still reckon we'll get to 40 points....and safety!!
League position is not really important ; fifth?, fifthteenth?...what does it matter? There's no difference.

*sigh*

:coffee:

Yep...Martinez gets no credit at all for sticking with his young striker through stretches of poor form. No credit for giving him the confidence to take his chances. Nope not credit at all.
He had to stick with him!
The only other alternatives were Kone or Naismith and they ain't gonna score as many throughout the season are they.

Cant be doing with the personal jibes ....Fraudo, Clown etc .Makes us look cheap.

The ONLY thing that matters is he the right man to take us forward ?

My answer is he isnt........so needs to be replaced. Promptly.

Its this worry about we how we "look" to the outside world which has made so many people want to stick with Fraudo/clown for so long. Personally think he more than derserves the insults for wasting our time and stealing his living from us for far too long

As I have stated numerous times, I am not happy, and I believe we need to make a change.

I am just stating facts and defending the over the top garbage that is permeating this place at the moment.

He does change formations and players slightly, but it's a total change of style that is needed, and it is a style he believes in, and won't change. He sees it working at Barcelona, and thinks he can do it here. However Spanish football is different, and Barcelona are a team full of superstars. It's like trying to turn the local kids basketball team into the Harlem Globe trotters. You have to work with the tools you have,
We are absolutely nothing like Barcelona how can we be? They have a coherent strategy to recover possession with an off the ball work-rate we can only dream of

I think what is quite amusing is that certain posters that blamed the rigours of the Europa League last season are now using aggregated tables in a last desperate cling... Including, er, Europa League results.
