I know zero about any of this, but could there be a scenario where not alerting the world's media that you're looking for a new manager may be of benefit? As soon as Martinez goes the press will be all over any club movement. What if they tip off another club who then pounces? Like I said I've got no clue but I can imagine thatthere's probably a dark dirty aide to getting new managers same as there is with players and striking with early with the element of surprise could be beneficial if we're after a big fish.
You never know mate, you could be on to something here.

Liverpoo sacked their manager to pounce on a better one, with some of these managers out of contract we could well be trying to secure one in advance as you say.

Esk, as you say, no one outside the club knows which way he is thinking. Even within the club I expect there isn't half a dozen people who know this either. I am not doubting your bona fides, but can you be so sure your information is sound.
I agree with you that unless there is some contractual arrangement then it would be better to let the manager go now and start the search immediately. At least the new manager would then have time to look at the squad in the next month and be able to make plans over the summer.

In addition, Esk, have you got a view on the level of input Bill will have in choosing a successor? Presumably, it will be a decision for the four Board members, of which Bill is one.

I like all blues fans have been on every site all day rather than working in the hope to see the breaking news we all want to see.....However, I am getting a little bored waiting and can only think he isn't getting sacked yet.....This could be because A) the board are trying to sort out his compensation for being a poor manager over the last 2 years or B) he is staying on for another season....I see no reason to sack him at the end of the season as Big DF and DU can take over for last couple of games.....

Really not sure what to make of this as it's painful and a normal club would have made a statement by now, even if they were supporting the manager......

God help the old lady if he is in charge on Saturday !!

There will be some I'd imagine. Up until Christmas I was desperate for the luck to change for him. I believed that it was just bad luck we were having and that we were on the verge of being a very good side. But my wanting things to turn out good for him have been obliterated by the performances and results (particularly at home) and his comments since December. But, there might still be some fans who haven't reached that stage yet. As you say, let's hear from them.
I was in the same boat my friend.....it turned out to be the Titanic...

Mate if you have a scroll through my posts on this thread and the Moshiri thread you'll see that it is not Bill's decision, the Board will do as Moshiri demands. Martinez does not feature in Moshiri's vision of the future at Everton. The only remaining issue is timing, be it hours, days or end of season, no-one outside the club knows or has had an indication of his thinking on this subject.

Logically it should be now as there's no footballing reason for him to remain.

This post needs to be continually quoted on here to keep everyone sane.

The only face I remember of him is that picture of him on Twitter where he looked like a baghead.

This one?

Blue girl I agree
Esk is probably our best source in the last oust he clearly states Moshiri need answer to nobody in selecting a successor
He may well run his ideas past the others on the board but with 49% raiding to 76% it is his train set now
Personally I am going to trust Esk's instincts and relax .... Pass the toasted pineapple chaps ...

I heard @The Esk is just a @GrandOldTeam multi used to drum up hits on the forum...

Logged on and he's still here.I can only imagine they're hoping he'll fall on his sword,to save us some money.Or Blue Bill is trying to save some face after appointing a manager who'd just taken a team down and falling for his Champions League in no time bull.If there hadn't been some real dross in the Prem this season,Martinez would be looking at starting next season on a hat-trick.
