Given it is extremely unlikely that RM will find himself out of a job, how can he be convinced to compromise his principles?

We've been down that road 12 months ago, forget it, it's not happening. He's taking us nowhere but down eventually,. Get rid and chalk it down to a bad experience.

What we've seen today we've seen many times over at least the past year and a half. He's had that long to see the issues we have defending collectively and individually and I don't think there has been any progression. I love watching us play football when we're on the boil. The problem is we have to be able defend, you can try and keep possession all you want but players need to be able to effectively win the ball back and work to prevent the other team from having opportunities. We just aren't doing it, the front four players do very little defending and teams are just walking the ball into the final third where the defenders are overwhelmed by numbers. Nevermind Howard or Stones, it's not down to a single individual other than Martinez and his lack of defensive organization.

NO. But a lot of managers don't know the defensive side which is why you employ people to do this for you. He doesn't have anyone around him to sort the defense, he has surrounded himself with attacking ex players.
