Roberto Martinez discussion

I just wish one journalist somewhere in this world would put a microphone in front of him and ask " What are you views on defending with absolutely no pressure on the ball". You could have the best back four and keeper in the world and they would get stiffed every week giving decent sides the time and space we give them.

I'm not in the "Roberto Out" camp, but Simeone would be massive. I am an Athletico fan, and he would sort out any "motivation" issues. He's done extremely well in a league where his best players are poached almost yearly. I'm worried that he'll leave Athletico, and come to a Chelsea/United/(even Arsenal if they get fed up) type team. His personality and man-management would work well with either team, in my opinion.

He would be my choice. Depends how much of a pull our new owner is I suppose. We certainly have a good base of players to start with.

No surprise title challenge. No top 4 challenge and not even a europa league challenge.Just a second consecutive season of excuses and mediocrity. This is a new era for this football club.Martinez is only here because he was the cheap option at the time of his appointment.Well i for one am sick of the cheap option.I want us to send out a message that mediocrity is not good enough for this football club.Time for us to flex our newly found financial muscle and get Frank De Boer in.Yeah yeah yeah Mirralas got sent off.Yeah yeah yeah we missed a penalty.Excuses excuses excuses that's the story of this regime of pitiful mediocrity.A new era for Everton FC was launched in the boardroom. It's time to launch a new era for Everton FC in the managerial office as well.

Completely agree on the de Boer shout - my son and I were saying the same thing in the car on the way home. Given our new circumstances I think we'd have a good chance of getting him. Could be a good time to be going for him, he's got nothing more to prove in Holland and we must look an attractive proposition to young managers with ambition.

Don't think I could put up with another season of this. We have a fantastic squad and should easily be challenging for the top 4 with how the league has gone, yet we are just 2 points above West Brom and 3 points above Bournemouth! Don't see how you can defend that league position especially after last year as well. He won't learn from his mistakes simple as that. So frustrating!

It's like having the most beautiful, wonderful girl friend, yet she has a huge character flaw. You know, she knows, how can the relationship continue with this flaw?

Don't usually compare women with football, but this is spot on. The answer is it can't. It's gotta end soon, and the sooner it ends the better it is. Martinez has got to go. It's unfortunate. It really is. He understands Everton. He understands NSNO. He has a plan, a philosophy, which I'm sure is probably brilliant. Sadly, it won't work. He cannot deliver. We love him. He loves us. But he's just not good enough.

Moyes or Mourinho but something has to change surely.

“I think the key moment arrives with the penalty [missed by Lukaku] and if we’d taken that chance it would have been game over.

“It was a feeling of missed opportunity, and the crowd, the whole stadium got a little bit deflated.

“We all got a little bit shocked at that moment and then Rom creates a great chance one on one with Adrian.

“Maybe we were a little bit deflated by those two actions but clearly the effort and the way that we had to match eleven men cost us in the last ten minutes."

Not. A. Chance.

Chelsea tried, and failed to get him. He's going nowhere. Transfer ban will see to that.

Oh, and as 'a fan' you should now, it's Atletico. ;)

We need Martinez first half, Pulis 2nd half, we'd be in the top 4 every year.

Nobody has done two managers, let's be trailblazers under Mosh the Dosh.

I don't think Moshiri will stand for it. Seeing as he said "the premier league has never been so open" or something to that effect, to see us falter like this will force action, I think.
