Roberto Martinez discussion

Did you actually watch that game? Chelsea's 'efforts' were from 40 yards out and hitting the corner flag.

If you didn't see Everton controlling that game in both halfs you must have been watching it on BBC live updates.

Give your own team credit where credit is due. They were easily the more controlled and accomplished football team today. It's incredible you thought otherwise.

Fair enough, its all about what we want as fans, you want possession I want chances and goals. Each to their own I suppose.

Damn Chelsea for getting into shooting positions, and how many saves did we for Cech into 2 in my book both Osman (1 deflected)

They shot from distance as they struggled to get in behind us. And we didn't even have to park the bus to accomplish that, we were just defensively excellent. (up until the OG... :( )

When it came to passing, teamwork and linking up we were a level above them.

You can see the groundwork there for an excellent team and style for a few seasons to come. Upgrading the front four will be key to that.

Chelsea had two pockets of control in both halves, apart from that we did very well.

Thas fine and fair enough, if it were a one off but its a common theme.

Spot on.

We were first to the ball and made a lot better use of it than they did. Chelsea were chasing shadows in that first half especially.

It's not great losing, but I dont get how any blue cant hold their head up and be proud of that performance in which we schooled the league leaders at their place for most of that game.

Oh yeah, absolutely. But thats our main weakness, our front four and our play in the final third. Has been all season.

I am hoping that this season with McGeady and Deulo getting in more, and Lukaku coming back it will improve a bit, but its in the summer where this should really be improved with new signings.

We played well but they created the better chances.

If that was us winning that 1-0 (like it was the last time we played chelsea) I'd call it rope the dope.

We were quick to judge liverpool fans for the 'we won the passing' last season

I must have seen this 15 times last season

But we didn't spend any money lad, it's all Kenwrong's fault.

@ianefc I couldn't care less what some fans said about Liverpool last season, it's a good thing that we are developing a style and sticking to it.

It's a good thing we have gone to Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea and shown we can control possession in parts of the game.

Bobbys only here a few months. Work in progress remember. Despite the disappointment of what we think could have been this season.

But they created maybe two real chances...the same as we did, in fact.

WE played very well - look at the conterxt: away to the league leaders. They were outplayed Chelsea and they know it and so does everyone else watching.

Positives are that the last two league matches show we're getting our game together again.

Yeah, but the difference is they were hopeless at a possession game. All the play was in their own half. That's not us is it?

Spot on. Lukaku back next week, if its the scoring version Lukaku then we'll be sound.
