Roberto Martinez on MOTD tonight!

Wonder how many evertonians are still uncertain about him?

My brother was a little uncertain when Martinez took over due to Wigan getting relegated. I always think that these experiences provide a manager with vital experience and information that they can learn from.

I kept reminding him of a manager who got his team relegated. This manager then tried to regain promotion but failed. He then moved onto a bigger and better club and went on to assemble currently one of the best clubs in Europe.

Take a bow Mr Jürgen Klopp.

He's never had a squad this good before. Everton and Martinez will prove to be a match made in heaven.

When Lineker spoke about title odds and said he'll leave Everton out because he doesn't want to add pressure, did you see Martinez's smile? I think he knows we have an outside chance and is playing it very cool.

You know when you see an ex Everton player and you look at them as a legend? Few examples

Sheedy
Ratcliffe
Reid
Gray
Ferguson
Van Den Hauwe
Adrian Heath
Alex Young
Southall
Sharpe
( to name a few)

I don't get that feeling about Lineker! I know I should but I don't! I sometimes forget he ever played for us!

I was apprehensive about Martinez at first, happy to admit it. But so far he's saying and doing all the right things, I still think it's a bit too early to have a definitive, we've got the right man, opinion, but he's certainly started very, very well.

As goes MOTD last night, I thought it was the best show in years. That wasn't just a result of Bobby either, I think there's been a marked improvement in MOTD so far this season (big part of that is marginalising Shearer and phasing out Hansen). Gary Lineker is clearly passionate about the show and doing his best behind the scenes to improve it. Fair play to Danny Murphy as well, I thought his analysis was pretty good and made some really good points.

I agree on Lineker not being an Everton legend, just a legendary player who played for our club. That said, I don't have any ill-feeling toward him at all and I do think he has a soft spot for us that's reasonably evident from time to time. Nowhere near to the extent he does for Spurs and Leicester (as expected) but when he tweets about us, it's usually more complimentary than not.

Didn't he recently say that Everton was the best team he ever played for? Including Barca..
He wrote a piece a few years ago (for the Guardian I think) on his time with us - said stuff like Barcelona were a bigger club than us but they weren't a better team. Worth a read, very respectful throughout as I recall.

"A new man in charge with a touch act to follow, how surprised are you that United have started so slowly ?"

"Well i think everybody knew in world football that succeeding Sir Alex was probably going to be the impossible job. I think it's going to take time, but if anybody has got the experience and the know how in the Premier League that's David Moyes. It is a transitional period"

A) He set himself up for failure by following the best manager in the history of world football
B) He is not going to be successful for a good few years
C) He's been around but is not a winner
D) Their squad is old and unbalanced. Refer to B

For long long long long time he always seemed embarrassed that he played for us. I'll always remember HK when he came back for the third time. Gary: "Howard, what made you come to everton as manager for the third time after being away from top level management for a while". HK: "You don't say no to Everton, Gary. You should know that". BOOM

just watching Bobby talk about the substitution of Scott Sinclair. He was excited that Steve Clarke put that kid on to add attacking threat even though it was a massive gamble rather than going steady. I've loving Bobby's approach to football
