In your opinion. As I said, I am coming from a more traditional perspective, and not a GCSE mathematics perspective.

I don't think anyone would dispute 2nd is the first loser, right? Its not mate atall. And if you think 5th is midtable i wonder if you think 2nd isn't runner up....
Because the play-offs were brought in to give the mid-table teams, i.e those who were in 4th to maybe 10th position, something to play for. It therefore follows that that if 5th place in Division 2 is considered mid-table in their league, then 5th place in Division 1 is also mid table. It's pretty simple logic, to be fair.
We obviously disagree on this point.
It's great that Everton got 5th and 72 points, but in the end what did we win? nothing but extra games to make this year harder.
Not when coming 5/6/7 wins you European football it's not.
You're talking out of your backside. 5th place has never and will never be consider midtable.

He's clueless and laughable and undoing all the hard-work Moyes done in getting us to a top5/6 club. Completely fluked last season. Taking us back to the dark days of Walter. Catalan bin lord.
Pay Ella is an old granny tart that Rooney likes. What ever 'payella' is, I'd love it on my toast.
Shocking start to the season. Still got too many deadwood squad players. Wish Martinez had balls to flush them out this summer.
However we have also been quite unlucky, today being a real example of that rub of the green.
Please bobby turn it round…
I'm afraid it is you who is talking out of their backside, as it really, really has been, and I bet you any money that you will continue to hear it being described as such in the future.

It's not top tier either so what do we call the teams between mid-table and top tier?
