Roman Abramovich hands over ‘stewardship and care’ of Chelsea football club

It's just sad to me how a club that's been allowed to enjoy two decades of success funded by Russian blood money is not only going to get away with it all scot-free, but they're well and truly going to come up smelling of roses with new owners agreeing to, from what I've read, invest over an additional billion and a half pounds on the ground, women's team, youth set up, etc. Yes I understand the whole don't blame the fans, but they've enjoyed the success since the early 2000s, removing any honours the club has achieved in that time won't take away all the exciting European nights and celebrations the fans have been able to enjoy for decades.

Anybody else sick of hearing about the takeover and possible deal 'falling through', etc?

It's laughable. Just read that several media outlets have revealed there are doubts within the government that a deal can be sorted by the end of the month when Chelsea's special license expires.

We all know it will be done one way or another. Either they'll get an extension of the license to continue exactly as they are until they get the takeover rubber stamped, or the government will reluctantly back down from their demand that no money goes anywhere near Abramovich and push through the deal by the end of the month.

Literally nothing at all for them to worry about, only about which players they are going to spend their no doubt gigantic summer transfer war chest on.
