Sky reporting Roman Abramovich will sell Chelsea & donate proceeds to victims of war in Ukraine .

I mean , I'm not too clued up in all the facts in whats going on , but in my opinion this is an excellent act from the guy .
The guy was granted billions and billions due to political expediency of the Russian government, taking money away from the Russian people and then used his incredible wealth for soft power purposes. He’s not an excellent guy. This is the equivalent of one of Hitler’s benefactors offering money to help Jewish people who have suffered at the hands of the Nazis.

It’s just another soft power play.

Your turnover was 569 million with commercial revenues of £290 million.

Puma 60 million Hays 4 million Nexus 15 million vitality 1 milion per year.

CAS trial revealed that Etihad the biggest loss making airline this century in 2019 was paying your club per year £140 million, an original 10 year deal was inked in 2011 at 40 million a year haha.

You have another 9 owner linked commercial deals with 4 of them added this year.

Self reliant though ???, if your owners left with their commercial deals you'd have a turnover on par with Southampton, the high TV revenues, the CL revenues would cease to exist.as you wouldn't be qualifying for it as your lavishly bought players would be off as you wouldn't be able to sustain the wage bill with the owners no longer propping up the turnover.

Harsh facts but true, you're just in the same boat as Chelsea, a club built on quick sand so reliant on cash injections from your owner every summer.

Everyone on this forum knows this is true about your club, im the only one who says it sadly.
That's because we support a club owned by an oligarch's accountant, and you support a franchise with a football club attached owned by some Americans who don't give a stuff about football. Not sure which is worse tbh.

I don't think City's owner gives a a flying about City.

He's been to one game which was the very first home game after he bought the club.

He doesn't care about football the same way MBS at Newcastle or the the Emir of Qatar does, both haven't been to game in Newcastle or Paris yet, all three clubs put a stooge who's not a member of their royal families as the face of the club.

All they care about is that "soft power", deflection from their human rights abuses and hiding their autocratic despotic regimes and torture of dissidents, the constant daily offences against their own people who are not in their lavish inner circle.

They'd rather spend billions upon billions on Sportswashing instead of their own "subjects" improving their non royalty living lives where they have no freedom of speech and limited human rights.

Chelsea were used the same way, when a bonafide Siberian gangster with a paid mercenary army hired to take another man's aluminium business, a bloody war ensued that it was deemed the " aluminium wars" of Russia, adding to his blood soak ill gotten gains.

He had so so much blood on his hands he decided to buy a football club in the home of football and sportswash to hide his past, and had a fund tucked away for libel cases when any journos wrote about that past, he even got taken to court by another Oligarch who told the world things we never knew about how this football owner really made his wealth, weeks later after the court case ended the Oligarch was found dead in his bath strangled, but Chelsea won trophies though and this kind affluent Siberian loves Chelsea fc, it didn't matter he was besties with the most deranged dangerous evil man on the planet, Chelsea were winning trophies, he gave hundreds of millions to illegal settlements in the West Bank to cease Palestinian land, Chelsea were winning trophies.

One down, three to go until football is clean from Sportswashing, good riddance to him and hopefully the other three clubs.

Corruption in all forms should be thrown out the game , the premier league openly promote corruption, typical liverpool fan justice for some but not for all.

As if your Amercan owners give a flying f##k about your club.

You were quite willing to form a breakaway league in tandem with these clubs less than 12 months ago, now you want them gone.

Hopfully we do, need to get shut of Moshiri and Usmanovs war chest is not only dry, but we shouldn't touch it anyway. in fact maybe he knew it was coming since he pulled the plug a while ago.
Supposedly the lads who Spurs turned down are interested in us. Some American consortium. No idea who it is and as always with these things a big pinch of salt required

Swiss journos are saying a deal in place on Monday.

Swiss/American consortium, one of them is the part owner of the LA Dodgers.

Great to see it's not a state, phew!!!

I wonder if it will be a leverage buyout?

I do recall some American interest before Moshiri, doubt it's the same people.
Vital we stay up as if there is something in this Americans dont understand the relegation and promotion concept

Just to play devils advocate a little here mate, but if the object of sports washing is to minimise peoples past, surely making yourself a central figure in one of the worlds leading sports leagues kind of has the opposite affect?

Doesnt it just attract attention to you, in a way that doesnt happen with almost any other investment?

I agree with a lot of what you say, particularly the bit about Palestine. I find it astonishing not a single person pearl clutching about him condemning a war for a country he is no longer a citizen of, seem to completely ignore a war of a country he is a citizen of. But as we know, lives are valued differently by the west.

Alas I digress, it's a random thought, but does sports washing as a paradigm really work? It's not laundering either, as nobody would ever launder cash in something as open as football. I'm not sure what the motivation is, but I cant square that angle.
