I think with Barkley he's been under 3 managers now and only 1 has got him to play (at this point) with any sort of consistency. I think if he moved to an elite club he wouldn't be allowed to just get on with his game. The scrutiny would all be on him again, he'd be expected to perform week in week out at his highest level or he'd be considered a flop for whatever we got for him which no doubt would be a hefty fee for us to sell
