Romelu Lukaku

Bayern is a cash rich club, on the last accounts they made nigh on 150 million euros in profit.

The young Portugal player they signed before the Euros is a deal worth upto 80 million. If they want Rom, they could afford him easily.

How much have they actually paid for Sanchez in reality though mate - not counting if he wins the ballon d'or payments and various other large but unlikely payments as part of that deal?

35 million according to reports, no idea what the incentives are for the extra payements. Guessing they will include Champions league winners, which is not very unlikely.

The point is, they are a cash rich club and 80 million is easily affordable to them.

I know that Ballon D'or nomination, and Ballon D'or final shortlist are two of the payments mate, then more than likely your looking at something about Internationals, payments after CL wins, number of appearances and number of goals etc - much like we did in the Rooney sale but even more silly in the amount etc (Basically a Martial version of a huge transfer)

Not arguing that they could afford basically any player in world football mate, but they are not gonna put down 70m or whatever it ends up being in guaranteed payments for Lukaku, he's not a big enough name and frankly not a good enough player for Bayern to suddenly smash their actual transfer record by double.

As i said before, if they REALLY wanted him, they'd be sly arses and get him to stay a year, run his contract into the final one and then try get him cheaper, if we held solidly on the price then they'd convince the player to run his contract out completely.

Same way they did when they tried to buy Lewandowski

That could be a possibility, Mino would gladly do a deal behind the scenes and keep Rom on his current deal with us so they get him cheaper next summer and get Bayern to reimburse the difference as the signing on fee.

Show ambition. Sign two or three class players as quickly as we can (the moment the transfer window opens) and hence convince him we mean business for the future. He'll stay.

Alternatively, sell him for a lot of money and show every other class player that we don't have the ambition to be any more than a stepping stone and that we like young players for a while, only to sell them for more money. Prices we're not that interested in.

Guardiola has Aguero for now.
Bayern have a lot of cash to spend and will need to spend it if/when Lewandowski leaves this summer. That whole team is ageing and needs rebooting.
United have a decision to make on Ibrahimovic and Chelsea will struggle to keep hold of Costa.
PSG would be a nice fit for Luakaku though I think he'd prefer a tougher league.

There are realistic homes for him if he wants to leave.

he isnt going anywhere this summer.

the whole team is ageing? is it? you mean Alonso and Lahm who are both retiring but they already have their replacements ready made and signed. Robben and Ribery will go soon but they have Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman already.

Far from an ageing team

Keep him for another year, instead of selling him for 80mil this summer sell him for 60 next summer. Also who knows what could happen may even get top 4 and then there will be no need for him to go

Or he has a year left and his agent sorts him out a mental signing on fee to sign a pre contract in Jan with a foreign club. If it went down to a year every man and his dog in Europe would be throwing money at him and not us.

You say that but also look at Ross, he has a year left and he is being linked to clubs for 35m

This is key.
the standard of who we sign and how early will determine who stays too.

If Rom still wants away, we need a sit up and take another top class striker. Go for the best at Dortmund, Juventus etc. We have to take from clubs we are striving to be. If this is not possible then Rom has 2 years left and should stay until we can.

All that matters is what is best for Everton.

Fed up of one step forward 2 steps back.

My point is that if we sell Lukaku, we don't really show ambition. So why would a striker from Dortmund or Juve come to us?
Why would any ambitious player?

Agreed.

He stays. And that should be that.

The only way he goes is IF we have signed top class players to replace him WHILST Rom is STILL HERE.

This is what I think we will do, and if we do I expect while he might not be happy about it, he will still play his best and deal with it
