Romelu Lukaku

So, we'd have still been in 7th even without Lukakus goals... Interesting stat.
It is true of Lukaku as it is of any player. If Lukaku was not playing it is not as if we were going to put out a team with only ten players.

The team would be different, his replacement would chip in with some goals and then others contribute more. In fact it is more desireable that goals are shared more evenly throughout the team.
I do not like the way that at present we are too dependent on just one player.

Look at the teams that are likely to finish in the top four, the goal spread is much more even.
I hope Lukaku stays and his goals are very welcome, but Everton had a team before him and will have one as well if he leaves... maybe even a better one.

The sooner we get rid of this 24 goals per season burden on the club the better. We need someone in who'll score 11 goals to replace him. If we can do that we can get a CL spot.

3 players who score 11 each is betterer than Lukaku...

And those 3 players are? Bear in mind Spurs and Liverpool are the only teams that have 3 players who scored 11 or more goals this season.

Even getting two players into double figures is not as straight forward as some think indeed just look at the two Manchester clubs and they only have one player at each club who are into double figures.

I do wonder why so many are trying to minimise Roms contribution for be sure of one thing if he leaves finding one player to score 11 goals will be a challenge, finding two will be very very difficult and finding three based on the stats is going to require a whole lot of changes

Frank Lampard played 18 seasons in the PL and whilst at Chelsea I believe he took penalties in those 18 seasons he only scored 11 goals or over in 7 seasons and Gerrard who played 17 seasons only scored 11 or more or 3 occasions.

If you honestly think we'd be exactly where we are now if we'd have scored 24 fewer goals this season then, quite frankly, you're a bit bonkers
People need to hold off the fuming until we fail to replace him. Our defensive record is probably what has kept us so high atm. A lot of that has to do with our midfielders (and Koeman of course). You can replace Lukaku with class players around the pitch. I think he is the best possible striker to have for this league as he will bully anyone below us, but if we spend well, it won't be the blow everyone is making it out to be. In their defense though we are Everton and will probably muck it up.

mad to want him to go! people saying we need a few players to score 10 goals, no we need lukaku plus two people who score 10 goals not get rid off an unbelievable goal scorer

Think the aim is to do just that mate.

But ultimately Rom wants to leave so if a huge offer comes in that matches our valuation, he's gonna go (unless it's from China or somewhere).

If not we're in a good position as long as we get those other players in.

It's not always easy to get players up the pitch when there's no out ball.

Everton won't challenge until they're able to win a few of the tough away games, and that won't happen with a striker who goes missing at Anfield, Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford, etc.

The team always goes missing at them places aswell

That's a fair comment for at SB every one of Everton's players looked inadequate and in truth I very much doubt that any forward in the world would have made any difference that day.
I am not so sure that many quite get it that the real issue when Everton play the majority of games against the top 4 the lack of quality elsewhere significantly impacts and whilst it's easy to single out RL forwards really do thrive on service and against the very top defenders which spookingly enough are almost always found at top 4 clubs that service and the support from other team members has to be one notch up.
