Romelu Lukaku

There is. Chelsea change kit suppliers from Adidas to Nike on 1 July. Just about every signing these days includes the clubs shirt and reading reports it seems that Chelsea haven't even released pictures of their new kit yet. In truth the new sponsors would be fuming if they couldn't get i on the act and as you can't sign players till 1 July, you can only agree to sign them, then if this deal or indeed any other transfers in at Chelsea have been agreed you could understand the delayand in truth it's the buying club that trumpets an arrival the selling club at most do no more than issue a brief thankyou and good luck message.

Not having that. I see the logic in it but as I say, there's no sponsor or anything that would stop the announcement of a done deal.

Some of the names being thrown around as his potential replacements are nothing short of embarrassing if true.

No sale unless a top quality replacement arrives.

Sweet Jesus.

Benteke/Giroud/Batman/Iheanacho

These could be very decent replacements for Lukaku if he leaves. We're adding goals all around but we need to replace his goals or atleast come close. Not buy some Jorgensen guy, buy a proven Prem striker.

CF position has to be our "statement" signing.

Giroud? Are you actually joking?

Things are really becoming interesting with Rom.

Firstly, only Chelsea and Utd have been strongly linked with him.

Utd have pretty much sewn up Morata and meant to be announced next week BUT the Ronaldo business has suggested that deal has been frozen so Real don't lose both.

Costa has been told he is not wanted which has caused issues with the top staff at Chelsea, apparently. But will Chelsea pay upward of 100m for Rom? I reallyb doubt it, especially having sold him for 28m.

If you go on the Rom thread on the Chelsea forum, barely any fans want him or think he can do a good enough all round striker job. Which is what a lot of Everton fans criticise him off. They say that if they are paying 100m then they should be getting a perfect world class striker. He certainly has the goals but can he do it against a packed defence or when a Champs League team is playing 11 behind the ball?

I have always said it was not nailed on he would leave this summer despite what he said and now, with our transfer incomings and with Europa, I am leaning more towards him staying.

I just hope that the rumours that he will be announced as a Chelsea player on July 1st are just that, rumours.

With Klassen and snides and gana bossing midfield, pickford making the stops and Keane bossing defence and Ross/siggy/Broz/Sandro with the creativity, pace, vision, attack, Rom should think twice.

Stay and actually love the club and be a legend.

But they aren't done deals. Clubs will agree to transfers but they won't be completed till 1/7. Main sponsors will try and squeeze every bit of publicity and if I were a Nike executive I certainly would be wanting to amaiximise the opportunity.

No. He's good.

He is a decent centre forward. Technically better than most would give him credit for. But he turns 31 this year, and hasn't really played a full premier league season for a while. 12 in 29 last year admittedly isn't too bad, but we really should be looking at someone better and younger.

It's similar to the Ashley Williams situation, should have just signed Keane then instead of a 30+ plus year old on the way down with no future value.

Don't see how Iheanacho is 'proven' when he's only made 12 PL starts in his career to date? Same with Batshuayi, he's made 1 PL start in his career, so how is he a proven Prem striker? Benteke has played for one big club, and scored 10 in 42 appearances and lasted one season there. Giroud might be fancy cos of one scorpion goal but he once went 15 games without a goal for Arsenal.

Jorgensen is proven at international level and is keeping Dolberg out of the Denmark team. 'Some Jorgensen guy' is unfair.

He doesn't love the club though mate that's the problem. He never will. He can stay and as you said yourself 'see what happens', or he can go to the League winners and learn from one of the best coaches in the league, if not world football. Leave sentiment out of it and think from his point of view. He can stay and battle (hopefully) for a top 4 finish this year, or he can go and play champions league football this year.
