If he ever becomes consistent he'll be one hell of a player. We just need to accept at the moment that for every game like tonight he'll have a couple of stinkers. But that's still better than most strikers offer!

People jumping on people who slate him is also wrong. It is true for large portions of games he can be a hinderance to our creative build up by constantly losing the ball. Fact is though he can turn a game within a few seconds. Need a balance were we get a more consistant rest of his game, combine that with his knack at putting it in the net and we have a proper player.

More worried about him doing his primary job, scoring goals and winning games.
I'm not saying the two players are alike, but Ruud Van Nistlerooy had a world class career and his ability to do anything other than slot was questionable.

Great timing to be fair. He'll disappear for a few games now though. That's my gripe with him. 1 good game every full moon. Ironically it is that time of the month.

Ruud didn't win that much with United, did he? It was one league I think. Overall contribution to a team is difficult to define when it comes to strikers. Rom won us 3 points tonight, no doubt, but he has put in plenty of abject first half performances that he has failed to turn around. Hopefully he'll go on a consistent run from here, I certainly won't be playing devil's advocate if he scores the winner against the whoppers at the weekend.

Ruud was one of the best strikers of the last 20 years, his record proves that, United were in a transition stage whilst he was there too I might add.
Lets look at Gary Linekar, Andy Cole, Yakubu even, all awful at anything other than putting it in the back of the net, if he's as good as those player I'll be happy.

It is awful tbf.. but if he gets to the initial rebound.. he's a beast from then on.
Unless is a shot.. if his first touch is a shot, its normally ace.. from now on.. he shouldn't trap the ball, he should shoot at one of our players first time. Accurate one touch passes every time.
Or multiple shins to West Brom players if the first half is anything to go by. Luckily, Kone came on and did the hard work for him.
