Romelu Lukaku

You build teams around players that make the difference at the highest level; not ones that think they're Romario because they're adept at putting the dregs of the league to the sword.

The stick he got from blues last night was embarrassing. It made the vast majority of Evertonians on Twitter look incredibly bitter.

I'm annoyed, angry, frustrated with him and i've said things myself...but the season is approaching and he's still an Everton player.

Last night it was a team of individuals, he had zero support.

We're in a new BIG chapter of Everton here, let's not blow it by turning Goodison into a stadium of hate...AGAIN.
Do agree with most of that. Sincerely hope he stays and signs a new 5 year deal with us. He has all the potential in the world. On form he's almost unplayable against.

One thing he should learn though, is to keep his mouth shut and tell his father to do exactly the same. Let your feet do the talking and the rest will follow. Atm, I can't see anyone willing to part with £65m plus for him. Hope no one does at the same time, because no matter how annoying his constant media drivel is and his current form in the end he's a superb talent with a whole future ahead of him. Hope he keeps banging in 20+ goals for Everton for a long time to come.

Think bitter is the wrong word. We would openly accept him moving onto a champions league regular team, we're not southampton after all. But fans' fury at him is because of the belittlement to the club that pays his wages, the club we support. The same way we turned on moyes because of similar actions, people didn't hate him because he moved up to man united.

do agree about the stadium of hate part, but if he's still here next season, he has to win back fans' affection. We're not going to just let players walk all over us.

I don't think that the player could have expected anything else or maybe deserved anything else.

Players have a sense of duty to their club , I would argue they pwe loyalty as well , but I think that day is long gone.

What Lukaku, his father and his agent have said is disrespectful to the club, his teammates and the supporters... and in light of recent performances it makes him look foolish.

If the big CL league clubs are interested they will come calling, I am sure that his agent has been hawking him all around Europe since he was first appointed agent last year anyway. It is a question of respect.
Even though John Stones asked to leave last season he retained the support of the fans by acting with dignity . He never insulted anthing about Everton and fans appreciated that.

Fans are not stupid. They can see what Lukaku has done already as a young player, they can see what he can become.
They can also see that his mouth is writing cheques that his performances cannot cash. Lukaku needs to shut up , work harder, realise that he is a big strong lad with lots of defects in his game and work hard at ironing those out......then , he can become the player he currently seems to think he is.

Roberto Martinez was obviously a huge fan of Lukaku and as we know he lavished praise on him. RM was hugely optimistic about everything, everything and everybody was wonderful and phenomenal...when it wasn't.

I think the chances of Lukaku staying are growing and I welcome that. If he does I think it will be a very different season for him and if he does I think he may end up a far better player.

I can't see us selling this summer now. No one would want to meet our valuation, surely.

I'm all for giving the lad a second chance under a new manager. Koeman could turn things round for him at Everton.

If not, shift him at Christmas or next summer.

Hope he doesn't have a single shot on target all Championships, then comes back to Finch Farm with his tail well and truly between his legs, is forced to sit down with Koeman who, in no uncertain terms, explains to him that, unless Everton want to sell him, he ain't going nowhere for the forseeable. Tell him if he mouthes off one more time to the media he'll be sat in the reserves for a year as we no longer need to worry about knob heads such as him bringing our club down. We'll sell if we want, at a price we set and Romelu will have absolutely no influence on any decision. Now shut your big Belgian mouth.

I'm 100000% Elephants sure that one of sales pitches for signing him was that if biglargehuge club came calling we'd work with him to get a deal done. Bob was stubborn and stuck him playing in a style that didn't suit the club or him and let's face it, until proven otherwise we are a meh mid table club. So I understand Rom's frusturation. However that doesn't excuse him for checking out the final few months of the season especially when he was pretty much the leader of the side.

I have no problems with players wanting to move on. We buy players from other clubs that aren't too keen to lose their guys either. Just don't pull a Lescott. Let the club know, release a short statement to the press and in the meantime while you are still playing for us bust your behind. That's it. About 90% of the time we get a deal done in a few weeks and in the 10% of the time we don't is because the player was tapped up late in the window and they tried to stick us with a lowball offer. If Chelsea offered 40-50M for stones in say July we'd have sold him too.

Seriously, did anybody really expect Rom playing for Wilmotts to get anywhere against an Italian defence? His bombing was the most predictable event in h euros so far. He is a fantastic player, but you've got to play to his strengths. I'll be delighted if nobody meets his asking price, we all know how good he can be

Will never, ever happen with his current representation. The choices are - sell him now or sell him next year.

Well said. They used him pretty much how we did when he was not effective, you have to play to his strengths indeed. Koeman could be his saviour but I reckon he is off already. He's not going to be judged on one bad night on Euro stage, especially when KDB and others were equally poor. The manager rightfully has been shot down by journalists, Wilmots is way, way, waaaay out of his depth. Very average.

Thing is with Rom, many don't realize just how good he can be, and they won't until he has gone.

Look at how bad Everton was last season, and take away the penalty kicks and in the league last season both Aguero and Kane only scored 3 more goals them him and Vardy only got 2 more playing for the champions.

Lukaku is the one player we have to keep and see him start to work under an actual manager, losing Stones won't hurt us that much but losing Rom would be a disaster.

would much prefer to keep him if he sorts his attitude out, young still and quality touch is shocking, finishing hit and miss but his power and speed cant be coached hopefully gets his head down for one more season
