Can't get my head around why so many want him to stay. We can get £60m for him while everyone's overhyping him and you wouldn't take the cash and splash on a marquee striker signing?

Look at how he's doing in the Euros. He is woeful, lazy, doesn't want to be here. We should be all over any offer above £50m!

No way anyone is bidding £60m for him mate. He's the best striker we've had this century if he's gonna stay good work.

Because he scores bags of goals and just turned 23. Also what marquee striker are you splashing out on?

If he didnt play for us the whole forum would be demanding we bought him for 70m.

Yes we have seen his "bad" points, but the lad scores goals, if we can keep him and keep him motivated and build the god damn team around the way HE wants to play, he is more than a marquee signing.

My thoughts exactly.

His agent/brother/dad/him have acted like tools, but that was before they all realised the enormity of what is actually going here, while they have been elsewhere.

A few glances on GOT would have saved them all a lot of Pay as You Go minutes.

Look ive no issue with the lad wanting to leave, he clearly should have kept his trap firmly shut, but we finished 11th, twice and he scored a shedload, yeah he phoned it in the last few weeks of the season but he put it in when it mattered, the Chelsea game and nobody could accuse him of not trying at Wembley he had a stinker, but he tried.

I recall @Tubey saying earlier on, something like "I bet he stays and everybody forgives him", at that time I wanted him gone, but I guess for once Tubes called something right with Lukaku, if he stays, I would be over the moon.

ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

We buy a number 8 who sits behind him and unlocks the doors.

The best way back for him at this stage is to shut his mouth and just get on with playing for Everton.

I wouldn't give him a new contract, as he doesn't deserve rewarding. He should get on with doing a good job this upcoming season first and discuss a new contract this time next year.

As it stands, we hold all the cards. I think there's a good chance he'll leave, but as you say, if he stays, people will try and pretend he's a "total pro" and all the rest of it.

He's not. What he is is a talented, braindead mercenary. If he's an asset, so be it, but I'd hold fire on idolising him like he "gets" Everton or whatever. He doesn't.

I think that Maiola has had a meeting with Moshiri and he has been told by Moshiri in no uncertain terms what the future holds for Lukaku.

The player is under contract and Everton do not need the money(as per agent).
It has been suggested earlier and I think it is the most likely outcome that neither Lukaku or Stones will be sold this summer. The players may be told they will have to give Koeman one season at least.

If anybody is going to be sold I think it will be Stones.

Agreed with all of this. I think Stones is the one we'd be prepared to drop the asking price for to secure the move, and so be it - he was professional after last summer. Ideally I'd want him to stay, but won't begrudge a move.

Lukaku is a different story as he tried to back us into a corner and get the fans riled up into demanding he goes on the cheap, giving "plucky little Everton" the easy out for £40m ish.

Backfired spectacularly.
