Romelu Lukaku

These days, if you finish 11th in consecutive seasons and haven't won a trophy in 21 years you can't really fume at one of Europe's brightest young talents, who has by now proven he's good enough to play in the CL, for looking to move on. Whether he talks about it in the press or not, everyone already knows he wants to leave for a CL club, so it doesn't really make much difference. We can't give him any European football at all this coming season, didn't last season and there's no guarantee we will in seasons to come.

If we'd improved our performance as much as he has his own over the last 3 years, we'd probably be in a better position to convince him to stay, but we've been utter toilet and achieved nothing for 2 whole years while he's just slotted 25 goals away in a season where we finished in the bottom half.

Made me laugh when he praised PSG's 'workforce'.

The programme sellers always have plenty of change on them, and the lads cleaning the bogs make sure that they're never anything less than spick and span.

If Lukaku played for any other side apart form Everton, we would drool at the thought of being able to sign him, and accept we have no chance.

When we got him on loan many instantly said enjoy him while we can because no chance we will be able to sign him, now we have him and he is under contract and people want get rid? haha

You couldn't make that up.

Do we really aspire to be a top 4 threat? Because if we are serious about Everton we do all we can to keep him, no excuses.
What is ambition?
Club should be first..that is how ambition should be.
Keeping player who have no respect for club and his team mates is not ambition.

You don't want players who aspire to win trophies and want to play in the Champions league??
A bit of an unfair question
Everybody wants players who aspire to be the best and also want to win trophies

We also want players to respect the club and the supporters

Lukaku is becoming an embaresment....

His talk in the media makes him look insecure imho not ambitious. His behaviour isnt professional.

It's not all doom and gloom lads. We'll have enough money from his transfer for 2 Troy Deeneys.
Crying at this.

Excuse my term of phrase due to Mr Deeney's colourful past, but signing anybody of that ilk after selling Lukaku - regardless of his performance last season - would be absolutely criminal.

That'd be a Kenwright move, that would be. Haha.

This. Fans who are getting on their high horse unfortunately need a dose of reality. Rom is by far the best player we've had here in a long time

You have to play to Lukaku's strengths.

Play the ball up to him, and he will often lose possession - though I thought that he showed improved control and desire in several matches last season.

But play the ball in front of him and he will score.
Agree with what your saying stan ,but the opposition are very good at stopping Rom from getting at their back four's in front on Destruction mode.

I think the fan base will tolerate him if he comes back this summer, but as soon as he starts playing badly the knives will be out.

No ambition is to win things, compete at the top level, for that you need players like Lukaku.

If all you just want is respectful players who love Everton, love the fans, love the community we end up with 11 Osman and Hibberts.
