No, that isn't what I meant, he's gone missing in games against Newcastle, Watford and Swansea recently - not exactly giants of the premier league.

Yes, he's gone missing against some bigger teams too, but it is overstated and doesn't take into account the fact that he's played for Everton and Jose Mouriho Manchester United - teams who don't create loads of chances against those teams, by their nature/tactics.

We did make loads of chances for him, he scored almost 30 goals, and very few were self made. He's got lads like Pogba, Mhikitaryan, Mata and Valencia playing behind him now, people are just finding excuses for him at this stage. Maybe if there is a lack of chances, it's because he is poor at contributing to the lead up play, fullbacks can't skin their man and make pinpoint crosses 20 times a game.

Heavily involved in two United goals today with some nice touches. Put in a very decent performance in a huge game away from home against a top 6 side.

The service to him wasn't great today, greatly exacerbated by the red to be fair to United, but his movement and quick passing created the space for Lingard, Martial and Pogba to exploit for the goals. United don't look like letting up now and the struggles predicted in here as a result of Lukaku's overall play haven't materialised.

This. Okay he isn't brilliant 100% of the time, but show me a player who is. He is doing a good job for Utd. who are fortunate in not having to rely on one player for most of their goals!
