Romelu Lukaku

How many of the best strikers score regularly against the top sides? I’d be interested to see a comparison.
Lukaku being a bit average against the top sides for us, which he was at times, was never all that meaningful - like you imply, what other mid-table strikers lash them in on the reg against the top teams? For Utd, though, it's a different story. If he doesn't score decisive, match-altering goals against strong teams then he's an obvious failure. Because it's very easy to compare him to world class strikers who do deliver.

There not connected, he didn't celebrate against Bournemouth either,

Of course they’re not connected.

He has always been moody and often never bothered smiling when he scored for us.

Rom doesn’t give a stuff about Baggies and will celebrate against any of his former teams if the mood takes him.

We saw how he celebrated against us earlier this season..

Here he is the night we came from two down at t’ Hawthorns.

And when he knocked Chelsea out the Cup at Goodison.

And when he eventually moves on he will celebrate if he scores against United.

Which is OK by me BTW.....I hate these players who refuse to celebrate scoring against their old club.

It's more influence on the game than scoring.

Look at say Costa last season for example. If he wasn't scoring he'd be causing absolute havoc to the defence.
It seems to be one or the other depending on how he's doing. People will always find a stick to beat him with.

Despite being utterly awful since he's gone to United he's still joint 4th top scorer in the league. He'd be scary if he was actually any good.

Another important goal today. There's 4 points in two games they wouldn't have got without his goals. Points they'd likely have dropped without him last season.

Another decent performance as well. Plenty of good touches and running.

Looking back at recent games, he was very good at Arsenal, playing a big role in two of the goals, decent against CSKA, scoring a crucial goal, crap against City and then decent in the last two games, scoring two crucial goals. One in 20 player? Utter, utter baloney.

The criticism he receives is and will continue to be a source of great amusement.

Last time I checked the West Brom supporters wernt giving him dogs abuse

Funny how he then chose not to celebrate against them

It's almost as if the two are connected...
WBA paid sweet FA for him. Neither did we in his first season with us. Can't remember a lot of fan complaints from either set of fans in those seasons.

We made him our highest ever most expensive player. Almost from the start he kept telling us that we were a stepping stone. That might have made a difference.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think he's boss.

But he's now at a top club where he needs to turn up in the big games or he'll be gone. And he hasn't got years to prove himself. He needs to hitting Drogba levels in the next year IMO

United fans have been slaughtering him all week on the phone in's. Terms like "no 1st touch, can't header. can't link play and he's lazy" ring any bells? They honestly thought they were buying a boss footballer when we all know he is a very average footballer but a boss slotter.
Why? He's scored in their past two games.

Also, was at Bournemouth game, can confirm he didn't celebrate.
