Romelu Lukaku

Interesting though to see his comments regarding utd plans to buy 'really good players' in the summer.

Very similar to his comments and attitude when here that he is better than those around him. Just not helpful to anybody, particularly if you are a teammate.

Good goalscorer, work to do on all around game (but I do think has developed this area this season), but he would benefit from keeping his views to conversations with his dad.
He is better than all his teammates at Utd. Lukaku just demands success and realises football is a team game so he needs the best support, no different to any top player including Rooney, Ronaldo and Messi.

If a club isnt prepared to give that to him then he has every right to move on.

I think the issue is there's still people who disagree he's that good or don't want to admit they were wrong and therefore deep down they resent him acting like he is.

Nope. He's unrealized potential. He has the talent to be as good as he thinks he is, but he is nowhere near that in actuality.

I think he has more room to improve but he's still better than anyone else at Utd apart from De Gea.

If you disagree I would love to know who you think is better in their position.

If you think I was comparing him to Rooney, Ronaldo or Messi then no I wasn't. Well not quite. I just listed them because they were the first 3 top players at their clubs who demanded their clubs signed other top players or threatened to leave that I thought of.

I think he actually contributes to some of the problems Man Utd have in attack. I've seen a fair few of their games and Rom has a habit of dropping deep and trying to dictate/force the play. Maybe it's the role Mourinho has asked of him but for me he does his best work inside the box. It should be Rom making the runs and Mata or Sanchez looking to play him through. Instead him coming deep pretty much kills Sanchez's game stone dead.

Room to improve is such an understatement though. He appears to be happy with being a natural goal scorer with bags of athleticism and finishing talent.

He could be in the pantheon of the actual elites if he wasn't so busy thinking he's actually as good as he could be.

I don't think he is better or worse than several United players. He's on par with Mata, Matic, Martial and a few others...but he does have more potential.

I think he's better than any of those but that's just my opinion.

Room to improve. It takes time. Playing for Utd is completely different than us because they expect to win every game including the big ones. That level of pressure is the key to him progressing but the point I am making is if the squad around him doesn't improve along with him then it will also hold his development back.

Rom was right to leave us. If anything he gave us one perhaps two years longer than I expected.

If he doesn't improve his game he won't be there longer than another season or two. Still goes missing for periods of the season like he did with us and at the top that's not going to cut the mustard.

You could be right. Utd have so much money in two years time they may have Poch managing them and Keane and Neymar leading the line.

He's bang average

Horrendously inconsistent would be the kindest assessment.

Quarter final v Chelsea at Home. Wins us the match.
Semi Final v Man United at Wembley. Possessed by the ghost of Brett Angel's past. Truly one of the worst centre forward showings I have ever seen. Missed a pen, a 1 on 1 and numerous other presentable chances.

I don't think he has improved since he left here. Capable of scoring 3 or 4 one week and then falling over the ball for 90 minutes the next.
