if he was sold now be over 100mill easy, glad you admit we are weaker without him and with the transfer ee

Yeah but the fee's have gone up since then, while his attitude and goals per game ratio has plummeted, 179 minutes per Premier League goal last season, bet Jose now knows he was right to bin him first time around

Interesting that Ibrahimovic is 36 years old and, in fact, was still much better and won two trophies in his time there

That's the kind of fantasy-land rubbish that the thread's been missing for too long. It got too quiet in the second half of last season with all the goals and assists. Nothing like the safety of the off-season to allow the history re-writing to get going again.

I hope he has a really poor world cup and the hopes are up again going into the new campaign.

As I said I would have him back tomorrow but not at the price we got for him. For that sort of money I want a player who can score regularly against other top six clubs. I think he will knuckle down and work at those parts of his game that need improving and that he will become a better team player. At the minute he is a very good centre forward, he is a way short of being in the very top bracket. If Belgium do as well as they are expected to do in this World Cup then that might be the catalysis to drive him on.
I think he is the sort of player a team needs to be set up for him to play in his way, I don't believe any of the premier league contenders would trust him enough to build a team around.

Ibra won the Europa League, League Cup and the Community Shield with United in his year there. Scored plenty of goals too, and this was well past his prime. Rom hasn't come anywhere close to that, and you seem to be forgetting that Rom has gone missing for large portions of the season too

While I'm sure beating a Davy Klaassen-inspired Ajax to win the Europa League is counted as a huge success by United of which stories will be told for years to come, it's highly likely that this season's United would have pissed that Europa League too. As they should, because they're now the 2nd, rather than 6th, best team in England, despite Ibra moving on and for the signing of only Matic, Lukaku and Sanchez, who has been a flop thus far.

Ibra has played for most of the top clubs in europe in a stellar career scored stunning goals and won a stack of trophies. if you think lukaku is a better player than him it is you who is living in fantasy land.

Even though Lukaku is still fairly young and is going to have an excellent career it's hard to see him surpassing Abrahimovic's achievements isn't it.

Put it this way, He ended up the 6th highest goal scorer in the premier league, but will cost far more than any of the players infront or around him.

16 goals behind salah.
14 goals behind kane.
5 goals behind an aging aguero.
4 goals behind the mighty vardy.
2 goals behind sterling who is a winger.
1 more goal than firmino who isnt really a number 9 and contributes more than probably all strikers in the premier league (work rate etc).

And he cost far far more than any of those players.

It's not to say he is a bad striker, it's just he isn't as good as his transfer fee or hype suggests. the guy is a bully. simply a better version of benteke. United will probably bin him off when mourinho goes, because he doesn't suit the expansive style of football that is being adopted by most clubs these days. Most clubs simply don't play with a battering ram forward any more.

His form took a nose dive when United stopped using a playmaker in Mata or Mkhitaryan to build attacks.

Sticking Rashford, Lingaard, Martial, Sanchez up near him didn't work.

I don't remember comparing their careers.

Never has & never will be in the same league as Ibrahimovic.
