To be fair to him he was excellent with us and his goal scoring record speaks for itself. The trouble is he got ahead of himself and believed he was something he is not and that’s world class, his agent has a lot to do with that and now he is struggling to make an impact at a struggling team.

He looks like his had a few to many fry ups since joining Man U and in dire need of a fitness coach and a new attitude.

There is probably 100's of footballers every year who get released from clubs who have more technical ability than this lad.

Lukaku was blessed with a pituitary gland that sparked into life at an age when most of us are learning our 2 times table and essentially kept him physically 5 years ahead of his age group. As a result he's never had to learn to use his strength effectively, never learned to time his leaps for headers, never had to worry about controlling a ball too well..... just used his athleticism.

It's all caught up with him but hey.... he's absolutely made for life.

I'm saying he got his break in football cos he was far more physically and athletically advanced than his peers.

It's a fact that youth players have been released because their parents are under a certain height... indicating that they will be a certain size. absolutely ridiculous but sadly true.

The toughest obstacle in football is getting that first contract. Once that contract is signed it's much easier. Much easier.

To his credit he is s reasonably good finisher and had bags of pace so he rode that wave but he's nowhere near the level he or some people think he is.

On growth hormone.... who knows if he actually needed it. Barca paid thousands to get him injections.... don't get me wrong there are players about like Messi and maradona who's talent just can't be brushed aside.

Messi may have been a late developer but was given drugs to bypass that.

No, but being 6ft+ he maybe didnt have to learn stuff that the smaller young players he played with had to learn to survive in a tough game at the top top level.
Ive seen this in NZ Rugby, 16y.o. Jonah Lomus running riot at school / youth level...until they get in to the big leagues where being able to think and think quick is as, or more, important as being quick and big
