I'm quite confident you dont know much about gaining muscle mass mate.

You reckon??? I reckon you know naff all about me and the subject itself.

1 to 2 pounds is the max lean mass a male can expect to put on in a month.... that is under a pretty much steady anabolic state where they are utilising progressive overload and remain in a positive nitrogen balance.... to you that is getting enough carbs days water and most measurably protein.

What scores against positive nitrogen balance is training when not fully recovering which most footballers have to do with their cardio. This makes them catabolic which eats away at their lean gains. That is why lukakus gains are not muscle..... he put on at least 8 to 10 pounds in 2 months.... let's be generous and say he got 4 pound in muscle.... the rest is likely to be fat and water weight due to Creatine and a larger carb consumption which draws in water.

To summarise.... he's been badly trained and badly fuelled.

Disagree? I've trained enough times and learned enough about what to do and what not to do. 11st at 13% bf to just over 14st at 8% bf in just over 2 years. 1998 to 2000. Natural.

Ahh Google. Love it. I also think you dont know me or what I know about the subject! If I knew nothing do you think I'd have called you out on it?

You should then know that 4000 calories is bugger all to a professional bodybuilder, a professional bodybuilder on gear can put on a hell of a lot more genuine muscle mass than a 'few' pounds in a month, and the way bodybuilders put on mass is with lighter weights and lots of reps. Also a lot to do with genetics, and by the looks of it Lukaku is an easy gainer.

But this is a Lukaku forum not a training forum, and yes you're right - he is being badly trained, and I dont think he's following the diet regime United have for him.

You don't know me.... I don't have any reason to bullsh1t.... I've been training since the days of desiccated liver, creatine serum, taking GABA before bed.... all that old school nonsense.

As for muscle mass it's about progressive overload... an 8 to 12 rep range works... but light? No. Lightweights do not tax your CNS and stimute a GH response.

Besides all that....Rom isn't a pro bodybuilder.... he should not be doing 4k calories either , he won't be doing gear he's 25 and his testosterone levels will be on the downward trajectory. So no.... he won't be doing 2 lbs of "lean" muscle gain per month.

He's fat. His nonsense about bulk for world cup is just more nonsense from a player who spouts crap all the time.

Lighter. Not light. Drop sets till failure.

As for 4k calories, a professional footballer training every day I'd assume 4k calories would be the bare minimum for a player of Lukaku's size, I eat around that when I'm training and all I do is pick weights up and put them back down again.

As for 'he's fat', I disagree. He has put some meat on but I dont think he's fat. YET.
