I was responding to a poster that said people on the internet have a persona of know it all. Well the 3 people I quoted don tfall into that category and know a lot more than us.

Face facts, some people will always judge him on goals only - therefore in their eyes he's world class. The rest of us judge him as a player - he's bang average.

He split opinion here, splits opinion in Belgium and he's doing exactly the same at Utd. Your view will be dependant on what you want from your strikers.

Goals for me. And Rom gets them.

Ryan Giggs. The Wales manager.

Paul Scholes. The Oldham manager.
Without wanting to get into the finer details of your debate, I do feel that when it comes to footballing aspects they both should be respected - to an extent.

Yes you could rightfully say that neither are managing at a high level - well far from it to be fair - but they played at the highest level with the best calibre of player.

The stuff they're saying is neither new or controversial either: it was mentioned regularly when he was here and I am sure it will continue to be mentioned.

Personally, I feel that he's a great finisher but not an amazing footballer. At some clubs (us) that is often enough and he'll be happily lauded for his rate of goals.

Whereas, at other clubs the expectations and requirements are perhaps different, if not higher. I'd have him back here every day of the week, but they want better.

Oldham is Scholes' first job too

I doubt people were saying "Lol, what does Brian Clough know, he's only the hartlepool manager"

Fair play to him, actually looks good today - his touch and passing is sharp but he should be putting these chances away.

Played some nice give and go(s) with Rashford, does seem on it in that respect. However he seems to struggle with the balls that are played in slightly behind him. If he had that pass pushed in front of him I'm sure he would have slotted it. The problem is a truly great player scores that chance. Same position you would be surprised if Shearer, van Nistelrooy etc. miss it, where you are surprised if Rom scores.
