but that apart he appeared to get on with his team mates and did the job required of him. What more do you want of a player.
But is he???? He actually isn't. Don't be upset that the £90m megastar isn't all he's cracked up to be despite the likes of easily led fans calling him a "beast" for 3 years.
I'm sure dom will continue to improve at a rate which is equal to fatties decline
Think we did very well getting what we did off Utd for him in hindsight, plus’s the 5 mill sell on/resign. Makes a change from us being spanked by them for hasbeensI would not want him back.
He isn't the same player anymore. He was always a bit clumsy, but was a capable striker for the most part.
Now he is too big and his age and metabolism will only make it even more difficult for him to operate in the fast paced Premier League. He has played a lot of football for his age too.
I wish him no ill, but I think in hindsight we did well to get what we did for him.
You'd really need to be in team talks to know what really went on.Did managers tell him to close defenders and track back? Or was he told to do what he was best at? The player we signed was the same one that Mourinho didn't rate enough at Chelsea and who had scored 17 in 35 at West Brom and 15 in 31 on loan here. He's got 28 in 66 games at United and 45 in 79 for Belgium so he does know where the goal is!I think he only did a small part of what was required tbh. He scored goals, but his effort was laughable sometimes and he went missing for huge, important stretches. He barely even tried in those games, hiding behind defenders and throwing his arms in the air when his midfielders couldn't find him. People think he has gotten worse at United, I think he is the same player. They just expect a higher standard, both in quality and application from their players. Our fans were just happy for goals and forgave him all of the deficient aspects of his game, of which there were many
"A player who actually gave a damn about the club"
How many do you really think do? What ever you think of him he came here scored goals and made us money when he moved on.Hard to see what's wrong really.Yes,he was annoying with his international break interviews, yes he had an over inflated ego,but that apart he appeared to get on with his team mates and did the job required of him. What more do you want of a player.
Yes, quite clearly.
They'll kiss badges and do all the interviews etc that are expected of them, until the next phone call from their agent. There are a few who will go further, but that's the same in all jobs.I think a lot of players actually at least give themselves the opportunity to integrate themselves the club.... he never did. Look at the likes of Mina and Digne. Embraced the club.
Lukaku played for himself. He took his boots off when he thought he'd had golden boot in the bag.... Kane got 4 goals - I was made up. Next game against arsenal lukaku was breaking into a sweat coz something was in it for him - in a dead rubber of a game.
Horrible snide of a bloke.

Think that has a bit to do with the Pogba best mates thing. I found him annoying and lazy, just that managers he played under other than Mourinho seemed happy with his performance. So it would be fair to assume they weren't asking him to close and track back.I don't think anyone has denied he scores goals. Personally feel his overall contribution to the shape and effectiveness of the whole team was massively lacking, and he was a liability in many ways. Why are United so keen to get rid of a 90 million pound striker with his goalscoring record?

Well normally if you ask a player to play a certain way and he consistantly doesn't you'd drop him.You would imagine? So you think it's the manager's fault?
And you know this how? Managers change team selection for lots of reasons.Martinez dropped him for Kone....the most tolerant manager in the world dropped him for a man with no knees cos of his laziness.
