Romelu Lukaku

I have to say I was initially not a big fan of signing lukaku. Was thinking Morata is a better striker but I'm glad to say that I've never been more wrong.

I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised with his general play. His touch isn't bad as is being made out. He is a lethal finisher, creates chances for his teams, has good hold up play and unlike Zlatan last season(who is a better striker fwiw), he can stretch defences with his pace.

What is even better is that he has carried on being a lethal finisher and even when he misses a penalty or a sitter in a game, it doesn't affect him much.

It's early days of course but the signs so far has been very good and with Zlatan coming in a month or so, he can learn from arguably the best striker right now.

How come you lot never sang about his massive member? Weirdos!

Back in the day we had a "Milkman" dishing it out..

‘Romelu Lukaku, he’s our Belgian scoring genius with a 24 inch ....., scoring all our goals, be....d by his toes.’

(pretty lousy effort on the iambic scale).

Ultimately, retaining enmity towards Lukaku is a fruitless occupation

There's no way you'd ever "win"

He's going to score buckets of goals for United, probably win trophies with them and make a mega tonne of money in the process

The man's already won

Holding onto this hate merely diminishes the hater, he won't give a flying fig about it

Honestly, the best thing to do now is give him a good reception when he comes back to Goodison and try to put this to bed. If he's still an arse towards us after that then he's only demeaning himself

The moral high ground we enjoyed with Arteta, where we were great to him every time until he cheated us out of an FA Cup Quarter Final, doesn't exist here. We blew that to smithereens by booing him before he'd even done anything. We might as well eat crow now and put it all behind us. We lost our one chance to be morally right here, sad as it is to say

The anti-Lukaku camp is sometimes accused of rewriting history but I do wonder if the pro-Lukaku camp is even more guilty of it.

To listen to some of them you'd think we were some sort of behemoth with him leading the line, swatting aside anyone who got in our way.

When in actuality we didn't win anything with him, only qualified for Europe once (just), never got close to top 4 and struggled massively against the biggest sides. The closest we got to a trophy was that semi-final where he had an absolute mare.

He was/is a good player, but he's really, really, really not this once in a lifetime player some are pretending.

Really let's make this as simple as possible 'don't think songs based on racial stereotypes'. That's as easy as it can be made. The main charity and advocate group on racial matters has said it's racist, it doesn't matter if this is 'positive'. It matters that racial stereotypes aren't taken individually. They go hand in hand with other ones. It is about Othering and making abnormal whether intentionally or not

Maybe I should just have said 'big cock'.

He's not done anything that we knew he wouldn't do. I'm still waiting for the trips to Anfield and the Ettihad when Jose goes all defensive and see if Rom can help them get something out those games.

Maybe his fault he doesn't/didn't show up for the big away games but also would throw in a great deal of blame on us for not giving him decent service. With the deep midfield we have now he'd have scored just as many/if not more goals for us this season than he has for them.

That is the thing, also a game against a lesser side when things aren't going right and he has one of his games when he has one of his nightmares and the crowd get at him for being lazy or his terrible first touch. He is one of his great spells at present and we know when he is one of them he is virtually unstoppable, what we also know is that they don't last for more than a few months and the downturn is inevitable.
