Ronald Koeman discussion

I read his comments as "I've got a squad of bishes and this 18 year old kid is making them look stupid by actually turning up. I need new players because these cowards can't change"
If so then I'm siding with Koeman

Comedy gold really...but, hes the one whose been picking them and Davies has only just got into the team...

If I am honest with you, I think you might be deluded if you think even Gana would be a starter in any of the teams above us.

@Zatara is my go to guy in these matters.

Zat......would Gana be in the first XI of any of the current top six teams?

Hi mate, i've not been watching as much football this season so cant be 100% definitive...

I could see him in Liverpool, Man Utd and City's teams.

Arsenal have Coquelin. Chelsea have Kante and Spurs have Wanyama.

Everyone just needs to stop panicking. 2 bad results in cups yes, but we are 7th in the league and not doing that badly. People saying martinez for us to a semi final last year is so small time thinking.
do you really think the kopites would be celebrating a semi final? No.

It's a project and Koeman is only 6 months and 1 and a bit transfer windows into it, he needs time and money. If we can push the top 6 and get Europe by one of them winning the fa cup I would see that as a very solid first season to build on.

as much as i still back him an think he deserves a couple of windows to get his playres in. He needs to be getting more out of the players we have. Hes on huge money and for that he needs to find a way to win games with these players...

I have had a kip but still woke up in the same frame of mind.
He has the rest of this season to sort the team out and by the start of next season will have had two and a bit windows.
No excuses for failure.

I was never a fan of his but it doesn't mean I don't want him to succeed. The fact is he should be getting more out of these players. The worrying thing for me is that he thinks Bolasie and Sissoko are good players worth £30m. He hasn't been able to reverse the free fall Martinez got us into and I can't blame the players because as bad as they may be now, there is no way they've all coincidentally turned [Poor language removed] in the space of 2 years.
At the end of the day though we have to remain patient and see out the season.

You cant compare Martinez' first season to Koemans either. Martinez inherrited a well drilled Moyes side & didnt have to do much at all, we seen in years two & three that when he had a proper impact on the team how [Poor language removed] it went. Compare the team Martinez took over to the one Koeman has took over. He took over an aged, unfit, disorganised & genuinely [Poor language removed] squad. Its going to take more than one transfer window & 6 months to sort it out. However, i will admit that for the money he's on and his 'reputation' i expect more, but if we finish 7th (which i think we will) we cant see that as a bad season after two 11th place finishes.

7th though. Jesus.

Its not where i want us in the long run mate, but its an improvement & thats what we all want to see. 7th may even get Europe.
Look I am hoping for an incredible run, but if we end up 7th and scraping into the Europa based on other random cup results with a points haul comparable to Bobby, questions need to be asked. We've got half a season to go and I'll reserve judgement, but it's all been a little underwhelming, no?

The thing I can't fathom is: aside from Cleverly, Kone, and possible a couple of others, the squad at his disposal IS premier league quality. Not league winning, not top 4 quality, but certainly good enough to produce good performances. So why is he incapable of extracting it from them?

Hes getting away with it tho.

Today we got beat and he won more fans than he lost with his post match words.
Did he? I think most will read his words and then reflect on where our season is (down the toilet) and settle on the conclusion that Koe-moan is deflecting and out of his depth here.

“You need time to put your stamp on things, you’re never going to do it within three or four weeks. You won’t even do it in three or four months, you need about a full season to get your point across properly."

Paul Lambert

I don't know why everyone expects instant, results, our greatest manager struggled initially , Ferguson nearly got the axe at united, and those two started on a much more level playing field.
