Ronald Koeman discussion

Probably still nowhere without a cup mate. Although the chances of winning a cup would have been higher in those 11 years.

Yeah, if that trophy was the championship maybe. No one was winning anything meaningful with a negative net spend in those years. Moyes was probably the only reason that outside of the moneyed 6, every other premier league club has been relegated whilst we still remain as 'best of the rest'. Moyes is the reason we hadn't disappeared down the financial black hole by the time Moshiri did come along to invest us. Without Moyes all these notions of dockside stadium, director of football, joining the elite, new Lukaku contract, Schneiderlin Depay etc wouldn't even exist. Honestly in my opinion there could have been no better manager for us during that period of time than David Moyes.

So Koeman is a whole 3 points better of than Martinez in week 20 of the league, Koeman is +5 GD Martinez was +7

Martinez would go onto two semi finals and Koeman has seen us knocked out of both comps

Before Bolaise was injured he had 4 players in the starting eleven that he signed, Yet the football and results have hardly improved

Martinez had three seasons to get his ideas across and was only going in a negative trajectory. Koeman has had 6 months. Any comparison at this point is futile.

West brom are 8th
Bournemouth are 9th

This season there is the top 6 and then there is the rest,
i think we will be about 20 points at least off the top 6 by the end of the season

And your point is? Reality check: we're not a top 4 team, we haven't been for decades. We're not top 6 either. West Brom and Bournemouth are there on merit - they're not automatically gash teams that we should be hammering because they're unfashionable. Gash teams get relegated.

3 points. What position were we in?

Its still only a 3 point increase on the horror show that was Martinez

We have been beaten by Bournemouth/Burnley/Watford and failed to beat Swansea/Palace/Hull

If you believe the signs are there that Koeman will drive us on please tell me what they are

4 new players, 6 months of training the players and zero evidence of any improvement or indication as to what he's actually attempting

Two of which are injured, the other now at the AFCON, and despite this he has us in a league position that his predecessor failed to sniff for the entirety of his last two seasons? There is some aspects of Koeman's performance that is open to valid criticism but I'm not sure where you're going with this. Are you really suggesting that Martinez is better?

But a 4 place difference in the table. Improvement?

That's only happened in the last few games, We have been poor in 90% of our games even when all four of his men played
