Ronald Koeman discussion

Right im over it.We can still salvage the season. What i'd like to see now is a real and sustained effort to put the pressure on the teams in front of us and a derby win at Anfield. Some signings would be nice as well.Koeman has issued the call to arms. It's over to the board now to make sure that the players he needs are delivered asap.

Me too...I stayed off here after Saturday as I could not be bothered reading the same regurgitated bobbins that we read on a daily basis.

We all know that the squad needs melting and starting again, no point in going over old ground after a defeat.

The thing that stands out is that the manager was not a happy man, which to me means he cares. Which obviously you would expect him to on 6m a year, but it has put to doubt in my mind that he is here for an easy ride.

As you say, its over to the board to get players in. If we can finish 7th and one of the top 4 wins the FA cup we will get a europa league spot, which Koeman is well capable of achieving as we have seen at Southampton.

There is nothing, NOTHING, That would suggest we would do this

We have been awful throughout the season with the odd decent showing, We will do well to stay top 8

I get the impression he doesn't rate most of our squad. His criticism of the players fitness in the summer was the early warning sign.
Who's job is it to actually sell players we don't want? Obviously, Koeman doesn't rate a lot of our squad, so why are we not trying to offload some. Or maybe we haven't filled in that post yet.

The comparisons between Koeman supporters and Trump supporters are ceaseless. This obsession with meaningless outward bluster that accomplishes nothing but makes people FEEL better. He's going to clean up the swamp of lazy entitled players!

So this squad is bottom half quality and his masterful motivation skills have boosted the players?

Which players have really noticeably improved?

Some would suggest the fact you can SEE all his motivations is a problem. Public humiliation is not the only tool in the tool kit for a manager.

It's possible he's a coward who says nothing to the player's faces.

It's possible to be a hard arse no nonsense manager without ever conducting any of your hard arse motivation in the public eye.

The fact YOU feel more motivated publicly and YOU prefer Koeman is quite frankly irrelevant.

To YOU. Others feel differently amazingly enough. The players for instance.

YOU can see.

He made sure the team knew it at the start of the season!

Blaming his tools like all great craftsman. The same core finished 5th. Did aging make them less strong? Or in the last two years is *strength* just more important now? Is anything anyone is saying here grounded in an ounce of reality?

*Should* being the word bad managers use to explain why things went wrong.

"Well I did this and then they should have done that."

"No I didn't check if they did it ... because I did the proper thing so they should do the proper thing too!"

"This shouldn't be so over budget."

"This shouldn't be so far past schedule."

Moyes got 7th in his first full season with BK's neg net spend Everton and Martinez got 5th with BK TV money Everton but Koeman cannot be judged on his first season because it's not fair to judge someone on their first full season because it's not enough time to do well ... aside from our last two managers who did it with less resources but because we don't like them we will pretend this somehow is a real thing and also ignore West Ham and Southampton and Chelsea and the RS and all the multiple recent examples of teams doing well with a coach in his first year.

Yeah I agree with that other poster you do sound like a Koeman.

What a lot of jazz & piffle.

So, you don't dig KOEMAN then?

Mate, you keep repeating YOU...thing is, that's what opinions are, it's what individuals think, some of it right/some of it wrong...accept that, you'll be happier for it.

And you've gone to great pains to produce this post, which is sound...I'm just not entirely sure what the point of it is or what you're trying to say?

Shall we sack him? Is that what you want?

Incidentally, the TRUMP supporters comparison........nah.

Can't believe people are calling for the manager head, not just on here but also on the radio. He's 6 months in to a massive rebuilding job.

We have been under funded and badly managed at board level for decades if not longer, with out Moyes we would be in the championship if not lower, he steady the ship and improved it, unfortunately Martinez made us worse with some very average signings.

Martinez 1st season was a fluke, it was a combo of players hitting their peak with a well run defence from Moyes and the loan of Lukaku. Now fast forward 3 years and compare his team to this 1. It's very much the same players but they are all older and struggling with the pace.

It will take at least another 2 transfer windows before we see a true Koeman team. We have just started to rebuild the club financial to make us competitive on and off the pitch and until we remove some of the dead wood from the squad and free up wages we are going to struggle to get the players Koeman wants.

Trying to some up how Koeman views the playing staff after the weekend, and basically how our season has panned out after all the hyperbowl in the Summer...

He was absolutely spot on with that. Case in point being GERI who - for a player of that age - was getting wrecked very very quickly, genuinely don't think the kid can do 90 mins ATM.

That said, and this may be me being uber-critical, but WILLIAMS looks decidedly slower than he was and also appears to have put weight on....
