Ronald Koeman discussion

But then again, we have no idea what's going on behind closed doors. He could have players slacking off in training, not following instructions, not getting on board with what he wants. He could have had words with players already and not got a response. In which case, no loss in calling it out publicly.

Players who may move on, are gonna end up at smaller clubs on less wages. So if they choose to slack off and not put it in, they're only shooting themselves in the foot.

Again, that type of character is not what we want or need, and I reckon Koeman recognises that we'll be shut of those players this window or next.
That's a lot of supposition.

That's a lot of supposition.

Ha, Indeed. The general point, was that we don't know what's going on behind closed doors. So a comment directed at maybe a couple of players, doesn't really bother me.

We need to ship out dead wood. We have done for a while. Cleverly and Niasse in the same week. Clearly more to follow. These are positive things.

I think it's great that, unlike his two most recent predecessors, he doesn't appear to be in bed with the board.

Moyes and Martinez would have been praising the club's efforts as the Schneiderlin negotiations rolled on until Deadline Day. Koeman actually puts a bit of pressure on them.

They actually were putting it in for him in the early part of the season. What happened after that? Why did that effort disappear?
I can only presume it was the huge slump that the team as a whole felt second half. The Baines appology was completely mad and I think he just lost the dressing room. You only have to look and see Kev and Rom's
Reaction when he was announced as Belgium manager as what had gone wrong.

The same thing Steve Walsh decided to join us, more money.
If he joined for the money, then you will be expecting a relegation battle and Ronald waiting around for the payout when he gets the sack (previous occupant of the managers chair springs to mind). I have a feeling your going to be disappointed, EFC are at last going places
