I am. Delighted for Davies most of all. But it's a one off in a pretty miserable season so far.Just enjoy today mate x
No arguments here. He still needs to prove he can consistently break down defensive teams. It was a brilliant performance against a top side though. We know what our problem is: we can't hack it when teams sit back.
That's a great win today and the lad Davies must be on cloud nine and I'm made up for him. But City are one of the few teams that commit to attack in numbers. The game plan to sit back and hit on the break was sensible and paid dividends. But next week and the weeks following that we are back to facing other teams who stand off like Everton do.
He needs to show he can get this team accomplished enough to break the deadlock in those games and take all three points. We have something like 5 wins in the last 18 games. That ratio needs improving dramatically if we're to compete.

I didn't say anything about Barkely mate.
The last point about Koeman wanting to play like this: how can we? You don't get the chance to sit and break like that against anything more than about 5 teams maximum in this league.
Allowing our opponents 69% of possession and making that work is something that won't fit against Stoke or West Brom and the like. I'd far rather Koeman worked on a plan to beat those teams than a City...which pretty much takes care of itself because you're responding to what the opposition is doing.
Which is also why my criticism of wasting cash on another CM we don't need is correct also. We needed to buy a playmaker to crack open inferior opposition when they sit back. What we really need is a few players to up their game consistently and we will do just that.
We're looking for another attacker, and maybe that will be the one that has a bit more guile and craft.
Two assists for Ross today - he's shown he can do that playmaker role, as long as there's a few players around him making good runs.
You're point about teams sitting back is true though. But it's been the issue for abiut five/six years now.
