Koeman is absolutely nothing like Moyes. In any way. You know nothing about football if you think that's the case
They're both 53.

He actually sort of is, in that his sides can play long when needed and he's pragmatic on how to approach football.

They're good things though, when combined with being a winner by nature instead of a complete loser, which was Moyes. I think Koeman is more of a natural winner than Moyes, and much more pragmatic than Martinez. So it's a good balance.

He's not what I'd call an exceptional manager though. Happy to be proven wrong, but I'm more happy at the way we've bullied a club into getting the manager than I am at who the manager actually is.

It doesn't matter much, as he'll be gone in two years for good or bad.

But I suppose they're qualities that any decent manager (at a high level) shares, aren't they - like you point out. So to say he's like Moyes is just wrong to an extent because he's less like Moyes than say, Emery, who was many people's preferred choice.

I agree that I'm more excited about the nature of the appointment than the man himself, but I think he's exactly what we need at this point to get the club back to where we have been for the majority of the last 10 years and where rightly we should be (top 6). After that it's how we build on it from there to get us to try and compete for the title - or stand a realistic chance of doing so - consistently.

Haven't felt this positive about EFC ever. Definitely the Moshiri factor, we've wished for this type of ambition for years and years and now we've got it and this club is on the way back up.

Surreal.
