Ronald Koeman discussion

All the time in the world for this in all honesty, as I've said before.

However currently, I'd like to see Koeman stick it out a while longer. I feel we're on a winner with him.

Even if Koeman just sees his contract out, maybe then Unsy could have a crack.

Unsworth: ex-player, winner with the club, done all the coaching roles, brings through first teamers, has managed the first team briefly, completely gets the club, thoroughgoing professional who says all the right things and comes across as a real good egg.

I dont care if Moshiri wants and can afford another one of his 'superstar' managers. This lad has paid his dues and - I would venture to say - is good enough to take us forward.

I agree - but I'd like to see Koeman take us a bit further first.

Lets just Hope Barcelona appoint who ever it is they are after,to stop all the press rubbish about koeman going to Barcelona, cant see koeman going to barcelona myself-even more when hes only just come here, but wont stop tv etc saying hes going etc,bad enough when tv/papers are selling our players, never mind koeman leaving

It's got to be, hasn't it
I've resisted all the calls for the cone layers to be taken seriously as an Everton manager, but Unsworth is a cut above the Stubbs and Weirs and Fergusons. He exudes quiet authority and knowledge of the game. If he went out and had a crack at a club and made a fist of it that would cement it. But I feel that he can be promoted from within regardless.

I think Barca will want a manager who has at least won a league title, RK would (IMO) be too much of a risk, but nothing in footie would surprise me. As for Unsworth, though he's a top bloke he will surely have to work his way up in management and prove himself, there's no room for sentiment anymore and if we want a team that can win something, that's the way it will have to be.

Good God, no thanks.

Actually having a laugh here.

We should really announce our self on the world stage by shaking up the mad manager merrygoround and going one step further than any other club.

Announce that should Ronald leave to get hounded out of Barça after a year, or to China in two years time to get richer, then we have already signed up Marco Silva on a 3 year standby contract. (or Emery or Sampaoli, or just insert your preferred manager. or whoever @MorgsGoat was banging on about a couple pages back)

Unsworth should stay exactly where he is whatever happens

Stop the nonsense. Koeman hasnt been here more than few months ffs.
Don't know that I'd call it nonsense though. Koeman has basically stated that managing Barcelona would be a dream job. Imagine if you got a call from what would be your dream job. You'd never turn that down at any cost. That being said I don't know that he'll get the call. If he does though, he'll at least consider it quite heavily.

Barca wouldnt call him at this point of his career. Maybe after two seasons or so
