Possibility of winning a cup or...erm...nothing until next season?

Dave, one year to the day, we were spanked by Arsenal 2-0 in one of the most depressing games I have ever had the misery to witness. Despite the cup run, Goodison was absolutely abysmal to go to week in, week out. At this point last season, I wasn't renewing nor was I taking my brother anymore due to the negativity and anger that surrounded him - our manager at the time.

The cup runs didn't begin to paper over the cracks as he offered up the same nonsensical tactics and game plan once it mattered.

Now, we're more or less guaranteed a return to Europe instead of finishing in the bottom half. It's an absolute no-no for Everton, don't forget that.

Give me Europe over 11th.

Past two seasons have at least held out at this stage the possibility of winning something. Our season ended on 7th January this season. Even Martinez worst two seasons was more exciting than this FFS.

It was really exciting getting hammered by the Dynamo Kiev and losing all those semi finals to be fair.

I don't know why i'm replying to be honest Dave but here goes.

I would take this season over anything the last two dished up. I really couldn't bear another season of calamitous defending and getting beaten by absolute no marks of the league. There was no joy in it at all, from the players to the fans and everywhere in between. Martinez' pressers were an absolute parody of what they should have been.

Yes we are out of the FA cup and league Cup early but at least we have a platform we seem to be building from. For big parts of the last two seasons i really feared for where the club was going to end up. At least now we can go to the game and enjoy the real possibility of coming away with the three points each week.

Onwards and upwards.....even the fear of Lukaku leaving doesn't dread me with fear like it once would have done. We are becoming a proper team and in time i really feel we will be challenging right at the top.

We would probably have won a trophy last year if Moshiri had shown the balls to sack the FRAUD before Wembley.

You know I do. Especially the time you're referencing we went out at the first real test in both cups. Better than we did this season? For sure. But still we meet City or Utd earlier in either comp and that'd of been us.
