For what it's worth, 3rd most long balls in Martinez's first season behind Aston Villa and Southampton. 4th most in his last season behind Watford, Norwich and Crystal Palace.
seems like playing long balls doesn't lead to significant success for everton

Ok right were 7th.Best of the rest.Improvement yeah that's good. But Chelsea are the champions elect.Getting to their level is where we aspire to be.They trampled all over us at Stamford Bridge and they trampled all over us today. While i welcome news about new stadiums i think in the here and now the most important priority is the playing squad. Are we happy to plod along being best of the rest or do we want Everton to be Everton again?A big summer ahead. Our squad depth is non existent. It needs to be sorted. No more of this waiting for the transfer window to be nearly closed before we sign new players rubbish.Just get it sorted nice and early no bs.So Koeman has a squad well prepared and raring to hit the ground running next season. We have come on a long way since last season but i think today was a depressing reminder that were still a long way off where we want to be.I was talking on this thread about humble pies and all that.I think it's time for me to eat my slice now.

0-3 was down to the selection of a wrong keeper today. Christ Stek was the Dutch Paul Gerrard.

7th ain't "best of the rest".

That trophy is still awarded to the 5th placed team :(

Not sure what the hell he was doing today, but ok we're in Europe so it doesn't really matter. Still far better than Martinez when I used to think that after every game

We are now playing mind numbingly boring, lethargic, defensive minded, unatractive, pass sideways, pass backwards, dont run at their defense type of football.....just dont know whether thats because of RK or that 90% of our squad are bang average and need replacing
