Those teams that win trophies and Europa Leagues, they must be affected a ton by fatigue from all those games.

How many times do they play three away games in 6 days?

Also, we're still two short of signings that are incoming.

Plus have several or more players out with injuries.

Have said for some time this is early days. Everton are a 'work in progress'

People going off on one without thinking it through. Hearts not heads.

Think he got the tactics wrong today, Sandro shouldn't have started a game like this where he would have little service. That said we have played 3 games this week and the players were obviosuly tired.

Clearly not in the eyes of some. Add in the injury list we have/playing players not fully fit and it was always likely to be a tough day today.

Aye.

Have said - first 5 games was about getting as many points as possible.

Its after the first 5 games that we should be looking at how the squad is shaping up and performances.

Burnley beat Chelsea. Does Burnley have better players than Chelsea? Does Burnley have better players than us?

Yeah, freak results happen. That's the joy of the game. If you expect to win games like today then following our club must give you untold frustration.

The signings this summer seem to be players who have good stats, and individually they all make sense. Collectively though, I have no idea what the thought process was.

No pace to play counter attack
No height or physical presence to play direct
No playmaker in the middle of the pitch to be a possession team.
No natural width.

I don't know what we are, but most worrying, I don't know what we are trying to be.

I mentioned this in multiple posts when we were obsessed with getting Sigu. Getting one off Klaassen and Sigu was more than enough. The rest of our efforts should have been on a striker, winger and wing backs.

Its stupid to have just 3 fit CBs and play them all together in a system which does not suit them at all. If you analyze all teams with quality AMs they have pacy wingers or striker making runs which they can pick. The AMs we have are more focused on their off the ball game and just like every single player lack the ball retention quality. It pains me to say after spending 140M I still miss Pienaar and Arteta.

Yeah. A month ago if you had said we would have qualified for Europa League group stage and got 4 points in the opening 3 games we would all have taken that.

He does some confusing things, DCL being a good example. He played really well in his proper position against City, next 2 games he sticks him on the wing and then on the bench.

It's stuff like this that stop me being a big Ronald fan. What's wrong with just playing a settled side with players in their correct positions? He is a step up from Martinez but he's still a bang average manager.

I get the fixtures weren't kind but no excuse for not changing the impotent formation earlier especially when we weren't actually defending well anyway

He's more at fault than any player for me today. We've not looked good with a back 3 ever since he's arrived. Tried it, didn't work, and wouldn't change. Ideally we wouldn't have, but DCL should've started if we were going to play hoof ball all night.

... I'm willing to give them the excuse of 3 tough away games in one week, but it was poor all over the shop.

I would give the benefit of the doubt based on those facts.....if it wasn't for the fact today's performance was the same as at all the big away grounds last season when there were no such mitigating circumstances :(

The honeymoon is over for Ronald.
