I just don't see us improving on 7th TB.
I honestly think we are going to be dull as dishwater to watch, but for some reason think he will grind out results to get to at least the semis of the Europa. Would be great to be within just a couple of games from a knockout tie for a champions league group place.
It's going to be very frustrating watching Williams, Jags and Baines struggle in some of the crap games we are likely to have and know they've had 3 transfer windows and still ended up with that.
Let's see how we look though when the squads 10 games into the league season. Maybe they'll surprise us.
The interview didn't bother me, but one nagging thing in my mind is that he mentioned more than once that we have strengthened the number 10 role significantly in buying Rooney, Siggi and Klassen. So the question remains whose decision was it to buy three players for one position!
Agreed. I don't know if you can put bets on finishing 7th but we will i'm fairly sure. Only way we'll get higher is if one of them has a catastrophic downfall. Not impossible with Arsenal at the moment, but they always seem to find a way to hit an ok bit of form.
But the teams below us, i'm not really seeing any of them improve enough to catch us.
We're literally in our own little league where we finish top....and bottom of it.
As for Koeman. He must be livid right now.
From speaking to a few people who know their stuff, only Rooney and Keane were his choices for players this summer. I'd guess Martina was too due to their history.
So the others, including Klaassen are Walsh picks.
I find that worrying. Even though I like all the players we got in. We clearly are still short.
Ah well January isn't THAT far off. Is it?!

He will do now, he's got no choice! He'll likely use Rooney as the striker more often than not.
We've got a totally imbalanced squad, Koeman's blown £80 million on midfielders when he should have bought a centre half and a striker.
There's no way we buy in January. We're £45m in the red - Barkley and Niasse clearly had to go to balance the books.
I can see Spurs and Arsenal struggling compared to last season - Arsenal are in a bit of turmoil and will have sulking players and Spurs have their Wembley voodoo.
Maybe not enough to finish ahead of them, but I can see us being closer
Yeah, I can see it too.....but not enough to pip them. They key is in looking at the attacking options of the three teams.
If he gets us above then it will be by defensive tactics and keeping it very tight and squeezing out wins.
Will be watching those two with interest though. Hope it gets worse at Arsenal and Spurs continue to struggle at 'home'
There's plenty of excuses if you want to find them. He was hanging out for Giroud and didn't seem to have another plan. He could have signed Llortente several weeks ago. He was the one who told us that Barkley would go. He could have signed a centre half as well, there was money there if he wanted to spend it there, rather than another midfielder. Not great team building in my opinion.Because he was told we had enough money to buy another cb and striker. And he was told that Ross would go.
Yeah it's absolutely clear we are still in the Kenwright buy to sell situation. There's no way we buy in January. We're £45m in the red - Barkley and Niasse clearly had to go to balance the books.
