Ronald Koeman discussion

Agreed. And, in terms of perception, we bought players too early. If we'd bought Rooney, Keane, and Pickford last night, we'd all be thinking differently about the window, because we'd be caught up in the deadline drama of it all. I'm not saying the window was perfect, but it certainly wasn't the failure it's been painted to be. And we're just one lot of fans complaining about it all. Chelsea, City, maybe, Arsenal for certain - they'll all be moaning at the way things have turned out.

I disagree with that. The striking situation still wouldn't be resolved in your hypothetical and that is by far the biggest sticking point for people today.

Spent £230m on players in his time here.

Something badly wrong with recruitment at this club post Moyes' enforced discipline.
Moyes seemed to have a very good system in place for scouting and recruitment. Arguably his biggest strength. Despite this I still think his team building was questionable. But compared to what we've seen from Martinez and Koeman it was far superior.

tbf, Moyes had to buy jacks of all trades, due to cash restrictions...plus he couldn't get out of his KITAP1 mentality, he had decent teams, but always seemed to be afraid to let them off the lead.

On the positive side I think Everton (and WBA) will be two of the hardest teams to score against this year. I suspect the games will be tighter but that we will have enough to squeeze out good results from most teams in the PL.

"We still haven't replaced Lukaku, Barkley is waiting to leave on a free and the guy I brought in to mentor our young players has been caught driving a Volkswagen Beetle at 2am while p**sed out of his skull. But okay, that's football."
