Ronald Koeman discussion

This is constantly on repeat but holds no substance in my opinion despite it seeming to be accepted as gospel.

I don't think Koeman has improved Barkley, if anything he's regressed. In Martinez's first season he was better than he was last year and he also managed to hold a place and play regularly for a better England team than the present one.

He's gone backwards and the tough love has had a negative effect as it will do with most modern day footballers, at all levels, within football clubs.
Barkley has regressed season on season since 13-14 (the only truly great season he's ever had). The season just gone was a definite improvement on the previous two from Ross so If Koemans though love style management hasn't worked then Martinez's style of best mate manager routine was an even bigger failure. If both of those styles don't work then you have to start questioning if Ross is the problem rather then the managers styles.

opinions are what they are. We all do not agree with them.

Yeah I am happy he stayed for sure.

He might stay longer, for one.

True this, might stay past Jan, and go for nowt in the summer. Either way he isnt good enough to get in the side now anyway, so thankfully the chances of seeing him play again for Everton are none.

Surely his best season as an individual was 15/16. Up until the last 8 games, when the team stopped playing he was the top scoring and assisting midfielder in the league. Stats sites had him as top 10 player.

He must have walked our player of the year vote then. Oh he didn't. Wasn't close to winning it.
This was the Echo's end of season report card on him
'Too often the games passed him by in a fug of self doubt and over coaching. 6/10'

He's never had a great season.

Exactly. And he wouldn't back down.

If you look at Wenger he's got Sanchez and Ozil on 12 months and Mustafi who wants to leave. Not once did he give them ultimatums and said they were for sale.

Anything being said or done is all behind closed doors.
Couldn't agree more. He's been mouthing off about Barkley since he came here, all of this should've been said in private. This is not the first time in his managerial career that his approach has caused problems. Bottom line say what you have to say in private not publicly.

I honestly don't know what to make of this? If your seriously turning on Koeman based on this Barkley fiasco then that's ludicrous. The blame lies 100% with Ross and nobody else, I can think of a number of reasons to dislike Koeman and his management style (and I'm one of the people who think his time here will be good for the club) but he's not responsible for this at all.
See this is the type of thing I find really weird about some fans.

It might be 100% Barkleys fault for all I know so I'm not arguing, but you have exactly the same knowledge of what's happened to get to this point as I do - none. How people can just confidently state the player is totally at fault and make the club blameless - again - I'll never know.

Because it's obvious at this stage. Barkley wanted out, well he had his chance and he chose not to take it. If people have drawn the wrong conclusions from all this then that's on Barkley for saying nothing all summer and then coming out with that nonsense yesterday. If Ross isn't blameless then he's a total coward for not coming forward with the facts to vindicate himself. Now he's obviously not obliged to come forward with the facts and his point of view, he doesn't owe anyone an explanation after all but if he chooses to act as he has and people draw their own conclusions then that's his call.

I had in my fantasy football team for that season until the last few months - then I booted him out, no room for sentiment! Remember a few people being surprised half way through when he was in top 3. He played well until the team went into meltdown.

I think he'll be gone at the end of his contract for sure.

This season is a massive one for him too, as he's spent so much money and arguably has his 'squad' now.

He needs to get the team performing and stop falling out with all our players.

I just want to see us play well for 90 mins and give every game a go, KoeMoyes spouts off about being an attacking team and we are exactly the opposite.
