Ronald Koeman discussion

He was probably nervous and being careful about the way he phrased things, given what's happened recently (failure to get a striker, rooney being grossly unprofessional amongst other things, our last performance was poor too) it was probably the one of the hardest press conference he's had to do since he's took over.

I'm sure most of us would have struggled to put a positive spin on the recent events, though I'm sure Mr Jedi Mind Tricks Phenomenal Man might have tried.

I think the hard part is the way he played Southampton when he saw the money on offer and then blamed them. No problem with making that choice but ultimately it means if he does poorly we will be unhappy, if he does well he'll look after himself (Arsenal)

Don't get too attached then, given that he's the sort of personality that his hard to warm to. At the end of the day it will all be determined by results, he's spent the money.

No discernible style of play can be identified which is the most worrying thing for me, alongside the average age of most of the players bought in a seemingly random and indiscriminate manner.
I don't think we're in a position to say we are gonna play just possession football no matter who the opponent. Some teams we can dominate play and have the majority of the ball but surely you can't expect that against the Man Cities Etc.

I don't see the point about the average age Kev.

We've signed plenty of young lads. Yeah we are overly reliant on the over thirty group of Rooney, Williams, Baines and Jags but Koeman only signed two of those. He's signed so many teenage lads that him and Walsh will be on a Yewtree shortlist.

No way Arsenal are headhunting Ronald, Tommy.....no flippin' way

He's been well trained. He basically said very little except ok quite a lot.

He's keen on productivity but I think we'll really struggle against the top 6. That's to be expected but we need someone to hold the ball or pace so that we can relieve pressure. Vlasic might be the man in a couple of years.

Nice guys come last, to be honest while i support him as our manger i cant warm to him either but i dont care about that, most of the succesful managers recently have been horrible, the previous manger at Everton was a nice friendly warm character on the plus side but utterly useless on the side that counts.
Koeman is fine
Howard Kendall begs to differ with your lazy cliche.

Mosh says it's Koemans team and expects top 6, even though 2 main players weren't signed.
Koeman either chooses to accept this and acts like a highly paid manager, or complains about lack of investment etc.
I reckon, if we're not top 6 (with no sign of improvement) by xmas, he'll be gone. Which is weird to say, because we're not normally a club that does the 'change manager every season' type thing but, who knows?

Don't be daft. He's probably the safest manager in the league!

I don't agree.
Not saying it's right but, too much money has been spent for results not to matter. There are only a few jobs where the manager is safe. The role of being manager of an ambitious club looking to champs league is not one of them.

The "interesting" thing is that, should he leave at the end of this year, the NEXT manager is going to have a hell of a time revamping THIS squad to get something out of it depending on THEIR style. We have a lot of players in a few positions, should they decide they want a team of width, we've got almost none. Still have the defense to contend with as well as attack.
