Ronald Koeman discussion

What concerns me tonight is his comments afterwards.

The team weren't prepared for tonight. Whichever way you want to look at it that is his job to do, if he fails at doing his job then even the most sound mind of us has to question what he offers as a manager long term if he fails to prepare the team. If he can fix it then great , but it's the third game in a row now so what exactly is he doing to fix it?

We haven't learned a lesson. I had hoped we had after the third goal against Tottenham.
So if we didn't learn anything after the third on Saturday then what have we learned after the third goal tonight? 6 goals in 6 days we have conceded and have not looked like even threatening to stop that. So what concerns me about this mind set is koeman isn't learning quickly which is what we need right now. What happens if we let another 3 in at least on Sunday? We have to turn up Sunday in a result that should have been there against lesser teams like tonight. And to be honest I think we will turn up Sunday, maybe even get a point off United because that is what struggling teams do, get results to delay the obvious. I'm not claiming us to be in crisis but there are signs right now that we need to see addressed before we get to December and find ourselves back in Martinez territory.

What I hope at least is that koeman is a much better manager than he is appearing right now and takes the past week or two as embarrassing and looks to make something work after the mess of a transfer window. Because it was a mess, just look at the team to see no matter how good individually signings may be, as a team they are lacking massively.

It's too early to make any sound decisions on the manager and we need to have faith in him moving forward because it is counter productive right now not to. If come Christmas we are struggling badly then hopefully the club can see it and look to change things, or we could have clicked and be seeing the crazy logic of the summer dealings.

Thing is though how can you not prepare a team properly to counter a team that's widely known as a proponent of 3 at the back? You barely need to have heard of Atalanta to know that. Don't they do video sessions on the oppo etc.?

Players don't need to have to bed in to show a bit of passion though Thomas, be able to actually pass the ball, have a bit of movement, have a shot on goal.

Also who signed those players because we didn't need that many in the first place.
Martina should never have been signed
Only one of Klaassen and Sigurdsson was required
Vlasic is yet another attacking midfielder

3 players too many which the manager added to the squad unnecessarily.

Hmmm.
Well City spend 100m+ on full backs mate. On full backs.
Utd's record signing is 90m.
Chelsea have spent millions every season for the past 15 years.
Leicester were the exception to the rule.
So if you don't want to be 6th or 7th, I would switch it off, yes mate.

I get that mate but it's not the defeats .... it's the manner of the defeats that is a cause for concern... he literally have nothing going forward and zero pace in the team

You would think so.... It's a football thing to study the opposition but we haven't a clue mate. It's beyond frustrating from these the results to the window. And it's going to get worse before it gets better
