Ronald Koeman discussion

It kind of say's it all about where we are at right now.Talking about positive and encouraging signs after a 4-0 defeat.lol A massive improvement is required.I don't like Koemans defeatist talk either. The aim for this season was to win a trophy and try and compete with the better sides. You don't spend the money we did in the summer only to be happy enough with 7th place.

I'm still behind him, it's not anywhere as bad as it was under Martinez where we were getting tonked by bottom half teams and the squad was full below average clowns who should never be playing for a top half side. Yes the last few weeks have been really hard to watch but it's been against the three sides that will most likely make up the top 3 this season, it's served as a painful reminder to everyone of how far behind we still are despite spending the most money we've ever spent in a summer by far.

Koeman takes a lot of the blame but not all of it, a lot of things that have affected us have been stuff he can't help. Players like Schneiderlin and Sigurdsson, who we all know are quality, are badly out of form. Coleman, Funes Mori and Bolasie have long term injuries, Klaassen and Sandro are needing time to adapt. Jagielka, Williams and Baines all look to have lost it and surely won't be here next season. It's several problems that have hit us all at once, it's horrible but we just need to get through it. The real test of whether or not he's lost the dressing room will be in the next few weeks when we play the likes of Bournemouth, Burnley and Brighton, all teams we should most definitely be beating. Throw in that Cyprus team and Sunderland and suddenly we're up and running in the cups as well.

Top 4 was never happening this year, anyone who thought it could be was getting way beyond themselves. The aim this season should just be a trophy, surely we can win one if we just go all out for it. Get a pot in the cabinet and finish top 7 again and I'll consider that progress, honestly. After losing a 25 goal a season striker and not replacing him (and we all know who's to blame for that btw) how on Earth can anyone expect us to be hanging with the likes of United, City, Spurs, Chelsea or even the RS? The best we can do currently is just focusing ending the club's trophy drought, once we do that then we move onto the next phase of getting the club back to the top.

If players who've all mostly achieved nothing in their careers don't like being told to pull their fingers out by a manager who won everything as a player himself then I don't want them at the club. There's quite a few people on and off the pitch who should be thrown out before Koeman as things stand.

Bit galling after losing 4 games on the spin 12-0 and being told to rein in our expectations after a summer of rebuilding. Didn't hear anything about that then.

Still, we now face a run of games against sides we are allowed to expect we might beat so all will be well in our quest for 7th again soon.

Really this last week takes some beating as a toffee of almost 40 years and I have seen many a farce in that time.

Actually he said a week before the window closed that if we wanted to compete at the top of the table we needed a Striker and a left sided CB.

Dan....Burnley have exploited weakness at Chelsea, Spurs and the RS.

What on earth makes you think they won't be able to "exploit the weaknesses" of a defence containing Martina, Williams and Jagielka?
Our keeper is not keeping a clean sheet either that ball out today straight to a UNT player Robles would have got slaughtered on here for that !

I think there could be something in these rumours......

That's bull.

Rom just said Everton were causing them issues in midfield.

We played very well between the 10th and 70th minutes.

The difference was two massive chances that we missed. They took their chances at the end.

Koeman's decision to take off Davies didn't help, but the game boils down to two of our better players not taking relatively easy chances.

I disagree. Man u clearly stopped pressing after the first goal, which gave us space to play better.
