Ronald Koeman discussion

I'm inclined to agree. They might get a slight bounce that new managers tend to get but in there's so many problems.
One big problem we have, the manager can only really play one of Rooney,Sigardsson,Klassen then if Barkley gets fit. 3 are big signings and the other would definitely want to play if we have any chance of keeping him. Rooney and one other could play but that means Rooney at striker which he's not great at nowadays. To many players in some positions and not enough in others, how did Koeman made this mistake is beyond me.

Walker to Royle.
Smith to Moyes.

Both managers inherited dreadful sides and turned them round dramatically.

We have good players.

We have a dreadful, defeated manager.
I agree we do have some good players, but they are just individuals within the current set up. We all know we lack variety, pace and a goalscorer up front. It will take an exceptional manager to turn this around. Top managers are available and I'd like to think they'd be interested, but would they come here is the question?

It's beyond astounding how we could spend 200million and be more unbalanced than we were before he took over. I've said a few times, the next guy in has a hell of a job figuring out how to use the players brought in. And then he has an even harder time trying to get rid of the players we MASSIVELY overpaid for.

Really worrying, especially if there isn't much money there to freshen up the squad. Who would we get more than £20m for in that squad?

They're just a bunch of decent/good players who have been cobbled together without absolutely any plan. It's frightening to think we've spent so much money the way we have.

Who's going to score the goal then to cap off the increase in confidence?
That's a big question a new manager needs to be asked, im convinced there's a way to sorting it to a degree even if it's just to get us to January. I'd like Unsworth in temporary harve for this reason, he knows the players and I'm sure he would see Niasse as his goal getter, he's not that bad and he's a sight better than Sandro.

It's not like the fanbase have just cottoned on to the fact how unbalanced our squad is. We had major reservations in the summer. Klassen, then Rooney, then siguardsson all bought to play the same position. Martinez a saints reject, nobody wanted and his form here suggests why. Sandro was a gamble worth taking at 5m, but it's a big ask for him to fill lukaku' boots. Keane and Pickford in time will prove to be decent acquisitions and the early form shown by vlasic looks promising. We desperately needed a striker and a left sided pacy defender. Koeman and Walsh have a lot to answer for, with the outlay and the quality and the positions in the squad that still need filling.

Give Unsworth till Christmas and see if he can get some a semblance of a team together.

He knows and has the respect of the youth who have been magnificent.

He loves the club too.

At this stage bringing in an outsider would be a risk. We have fallen off a cliff.
We should have made this decision on Monday. I believe we will still make this decision, at some stage over the next 2 weeks. But by that time it will be too late to salvage anything from this season.

Yeah, it's absolutely shocking. Tbh if we had any aspirations of getting this magical top 4 position then we'd have kept Lukaku and invested in the squad from there.
