Ronald Koeman discussion

but Martinez stopped the rot, got us to 5th and got us into EL knockout stages.... at least his failure didn't cost 200m. Koeman should be held to the same standards Martinez was

At the end of the day this a team that Koeman spent 140 million smackers constructing in the summer. You have the poor football, the clogging up of pace less midfielders, the promising younger players being treated like garbage etc.Martinez was a flawed manager and he had to go.But i fear that Koeman could have caused serious damage to this football club.I hope im wrong but as i said earlier.I haven't felt this annoyed and depressed about Everton since the days of Walter Smith.

The big difference for me is the fact that it doesn't look like there is a style or system we are trying to implement at all and secondly Koeman isn't arsed either, not to mention all the lowering of expectations by him and Moshiri with top 6 would a fantastic acheivement and "expected losses".

Football wise, tactics wise, he is not lacking. Seriously. But that is such a small part of the job, after all.

He is absolutely useless at managing the people coming into this club. Fawning over Gylfi, letting Rooney do what he wants, playing Williams when he's clearly off his face on a bad trip and pairing him with two right backs. What a joke.

I'm always one to stick up for the manager till the bitter end, but this is it. Koeman has got to go, he has nothing else to show us. Someone needs to fix this, cause we're an absolute shambles at this point.

Cuco being played as a LB when he clearly has one thing in his locker (his right peg) isn't Cuco's fault. All on Ronnie McRonface.

That moment of strangers on the pitch between him and Sando is 100% on Koeman as well.

Sandro looks miles worse than anyone I can remember. Niasse is Messi comparably.

You can tell he's trying too hard but dayum...he's been a bad liability.

Wake up and he's not been sacked.

Not surprised at all.
Starting to lose patience. It's already clear to me that we -as a club- do not have winning mentality. We are more of a philantropic organisation than ambitious football club.

We will never win anything when we lack fundamental ingredient - ambition.

SMALL TIME PLUCKY EVERTON. ALWAYS IN THE SHADOW OF THE RED LOT

In Koeman's defence it's clear that he's trying every combination of players he can to get some kind form and confidence into the side.

He also made clear throughout August that we needed a CF and left sided defender. I think he's been proven right about that.

The damage was done in the summer. Some of our signings have been complete disasters but we don't know if that's his fault or Walsh's. We were all left disappointed with how the transfer window ended, we just didn't realise how bad things would get because of it.

That said, I think he'll be sacked by the end of the month, but I don't think it's all his fault. It'll mainly be down to the team needing a boost that a new manger can sometimes provide.

There is no way Walsh chose Klaassen Stekelenburg, Cuco or Schneiderlin...too much of a coincidence they all have links to koeman

He is obviously not going to walk out and lose out on his big contract.

He has to be put out of his misery in the next 24 hours.

Has Moshiri got the cojones ....I'm not so sure.

Tactics wise, his so called tactics are dire.

Great post mate.A lot of home truths for people in that post. This season so far is kind of like the Walter Smith era, without a fat Gaza running around the place.
You don't remember it right. Gazza (when briefly non-crocked) moved like a sleepy bumble bee hit unaware by a cold snap - you couldn't call it running in an athlete's sense.

But the more I think about our team now and then, there are a lot of parallels. So perhaps we do need a Moyes a-like to come in to steady the ship like Dyche, but to move him on before he gets stale.

There has been some stupid decisions

Not registering Luke Garbutt, why? Not registering Niasse for Europe

Taking over 10 games to try width / play lookman

Loaning out Brendan Galloway

Playing Williams consistently (tbf 10/10 For passion but too old)

This undying love for Baines despite he's obviously too old now, not dynamic enough

What did we appoint a director of football for what is on his CV before Leicester? Director of the Titanic?

Do him and Koeman even discuss things??

Disappointing start to what should have been a promising year

And now all we get is "but ok it's futbol, the owner backs me"

Wish I could cause havoc and misery in my job and get sacked with 2 years pay
