Ronald Koeman discussion

He hasnt ruined the football club. Sorry this is utter nonsense! Ruined it from what exactly??

We have been also rans since 1987. We still are. What has changed?

There are way too many players at the club who accept mediocrity and wont bother fighting to improve on that. Many were here before Martinez. Absolute losers.

He took this club backward it's pretty obvious. A genuine top 6/7 PL team with occasionally Europa spot to a mid-lower table team.

If our past chairman had no money how on earth we can punch above the height? Moshiri is supposed to be the real deal but I have my doubt now because of the negative net spend in the summer.

Is that the game where the players famously stopped playing?

The same players who we expect to fight for us now. Its madness.

By the way I am neither praising Martinez or having a go at Koeman (its been a few months, it would be madness to do so) but the game you used as an example and today's game are just different variations of the same crap.

There is one constant in these two games, and it aint the managers.
Agreed, but to say "this is what we have now" after a handful of games is insanely stupid as well (wasn't you, btw, but it was Dave, shockingly).

Also in that "famous" season with the points Dave keeps banging on about, we also had shockers, including a game against Liverpool where we had equal shots but didn't look threatening all game and lost 4:0 due to Martinez's shockingly bad tactics - why didn't everyone sign Clownbob off then? Ah right, we'd had an alright run and were sitting around, surprisingly, the same place we are now, except after less than 20 games.

One win or one loss ultimately won't make our season, as we're in such a situation. We should be aiming to get as much as we can, and this was an exceptional Chelsea side and a less than poor Everton side - these games happen, but let's have a lot less of them from now on.

Also in no way should Koeman be sacked in the summer, but I honestly expect him to just resign in May (latest) if he's given 0 money in January, again, and has to wait until deadline day.

Need to throw more money around in January if Moshiri means business. Strootman and whoever will upgrade our first team. Let's pray.

Yes he did. I am not disagreeing with you in the slightest there.

He did not ruin Everton though. That's insane. We are in the same place roughly that we have been for many years now. Not good enough to win anything, not bad enough to go down.

Who knows with Moshiri. I personally reckon Koeman/Walsh had players lined up but they didnt want to come to us this summer. Thats OK with me, I would prefer us to wait for the right players instead of keep going down a list of potential players and ending up with like the 6th best option. That results in panic buys.

Moshiri is no different to Koeman and Walsh for me. They should be judged after a few years, not after the first opportunity. These things cant be done overnight.

"Ruined"

RUINED!

Portsmouth dropping 4 divisions is a club being ruined. Blackpool being decimated by a knobhead owner is a club being ruined.

Two mid tables finishes where you then get rid of the manager who has underachieved is in no way shape or form a club being ruined. Its a blip, and its a blip that we have rectified by changing the manager.

Ruined indeed. Its a ridiculous overstatement.
Worst home record ever from finishing in the top half, losing any of our already shamefully small stature we have, we can't attract a decent player to come to us even if we offer him all the money in the world - yes, ruined. Maybe not in the drastic extremes you listed, but certainly ruined.

Why did we get linked to so many decent players (and Sissoko) and all of them chose random crap instead of us (and Sissoko just chose London)? Is it because of the prospect of not playing for a team that finishes in the bottom half for seasons in a row? I'd say it played a massive part. Maybe the stadium will change this, but we desperately need good players, and we'll do very well to even remotely attract them.

I hope Koeman has at least gained a bit of insight into the players today.
Well, I'd rather concede 5 and lose one than lose 1-0 five times. Let's hope Koeman makes sure performances like that never happen again.

The whole team looked lost. Never play players out of position. Funes Mori is not a lb.

Apart from sorting us leaking goals (lol) which he's admitted was easy what has Koeman shown in the opening few months to impress

Nope. I can almost guarantee that a player is not slightly bothered if we are in the Europa league or 7th instead of 11th. They play for the money first and maybe a chance to win things second. Ill say this as well, nobody will be bothered about the stadium either. Players want money and a club that will stroke their ego (there are one or two exceptions).

Perez joined Arsenal, Gabbiadini stayed at Napoli, neither of which is random crap.

Good players may be convinced to join if there is a plan in place. Thats up to the manager to make that happen.

In terms of attracting players we are in no worse a position than we have been for nigh on 15 years. Besides the good players are not always the obvious ones. Its attracting the right players not just the best ones.

Can you stop talking about Martinez in a Koeman thread please. if you do, I'll report you again.
