Fairly big hints I thought of an incoming DoF, mention of working in a team and "head of recruitment".

Exciting times.
Take it the announcements regard the new board members will happen after all management stuff is sorted?, and then after that stadium?

I'm seriously hoping you're not expecting a new stadium *built* this coming season. Are you?

Have you any idea if we're any closer to naming someone mate?

Wasn't sure if was still going ahead earlier in the week with references to Koeman as "manager" and not "head coach" but whats in a name.

Like many, I was fooled into thinking Martinez was the man to lead us forward as he came in like a breath of fresh air after the staleness of Moyes' final years. This time, I'm going to reserve judgment until well into the season. I hope Koeman does well and he has my backing as Everton manager, but this time I'm more cautious.

Not heard anything mate, this is being kept well under wraps if it's happening.

I really hope we are doing it, makes a huge amount of sense to me at least.

Am interested in this aswell, you'd presume that with Koeman mentioning it in an interview that it will be happening. Be interesting if this was to happen tomorrow as part of the press conference.

I doubt it will but would be nice to get it all boxed off so we can start moving forward with the squad.

I agree completely, it will be at least as significant as Koeman's appointment if we get someone in for that role, probably even more so in my opinion, and would be very beneficial in the medium to long-term. It would be another sign of strategic thinking winning out at the club and not the plod and hope approach.

No lad, go all in and pin your hopes on our new leader. It'll make it more Everton when we fail :)

one thing that will be good is having a manager who actually has
the balls to come out and slam his players in public instead of all that
phenomenol stuff, can't say Martinez didnt in dressing room because f knows
but so many times wanted an interview like this

This. We dont need another crap talker. Evertonians respect straight forward and honest talk.

I know you don't have to have been a top player to make a top manager, but when the chips are down I'm sure senior pro's think "where are your medals".So I'm in!

Well - I can't think of any top English club where the DoF idea has worked.

Sure it works on the Continent but here all the best results seem to flow from the manager having autonomy.

In my opinion the DoF role is fine for looking at all footballing aspects with the exception of the first team and choosing which players to recruit ( although they should be involved in negotiations to secure players chosen by the coach ).
