Ronald Koeman discussion

Whilst we all know what he is saying and we all probably think it, as the manager of the club he probably shouldn't be saying it in public.

It doesn't help us in other areas, certainly when it comes to trying to attract better players in the window.

It's no secret that Romelu wants to move on, and all we ask as supporters of Everton Football Club is that while he is here, he ays for the Everton badge and gives 100%.

I do not begrudge players wanting to move onto better or bigger clubs, it's a short career and they need to earn what they, can when they can. I would do the same in my career.

Too much honesty here probably from Ron.

Remember what I said, I didn't expect it to be this soon like.
You lot remind me of that scene in the motion picture starring Charlton Heston " The Ten Commandments "

When Moses goes off into the mountains to speak with God, the rubble of people start making a gold statue to worship as a new God.

Remember three years ago people? Moyes was so negative, Martinez is our new lord and so positive, can't wait for the season to start. Fast forward and Martinez chats a load of Tosh and Koeman is the new lord and savior.

You will all turn on him, remember that. You will turn on him.

You will all turn on him.

Remember that.

I remember when people moaned about Moyes's tactics against the so called big four and he got called negative.

The same people said how refreshing Martinez was.

I said in the summer, but I'll say it again to remind you all.

YOU WILL ALL TURN ON HIM.

He values the money he's getting, which is what every person involved in the game does.

The others at least put up a lie to pretend they care about the fans and get the club though, his comments are bizarre.

I hope one of the gushing, arse licking hacks grow a pair and question him about this. Obviously that doesn't mean the Echo who are a sub-class even below those scumbags.

Exactly, it's the public nature of the comments. Obviously we all know currently EFC vs Barcelona is no contest size-wise; but I want an ambitious manager who aspires to take us to those kind of heights; not one who makes these kind of comments, which imply that we are just some kind of middle-of-the-road stepping stone.

Koeman feels he's bigger than Everton; and to be frank comments like this don't show a sufficient degree of respect towards the club or the fans.

This really poor judgement on Koemans, in fact it's more than that it's pathetic. Koeman should be bollocked in my opinion

We discussed the other day about us as a club having a complex and things like this prove that we do, it leaves a sour taste in the fans view and portrays to the media that players are better than the club.

Look at the RS, would you ever imagine a manager making that statement, no. They believe that they are at the best even though they know they are not. The fans, those mutant fans, are the same. We take the piss out of them but the complex is that they will always challenge because it's constantly fed to them that they are the biggest and greatest.

This club needs a overhaul of our outlook on the footballing world.

All day long.

Klopp is a better manager than him if we're being honest

Just read those comments. A stepping stone manager for what is now seen as a stepping stone club. We'll never get to the top with this mentality pervading through the club. Get a proper Evertonian in who recognises that this club should be the pinnacle of his life's work not a dress rehearsal for the Barca job.

The only way he gets even half a chance at Barca is by being successful here though, so it's win win?

It's funny you think give it a few hours and you'll feel better, but it just gets worse.

I'm trying to understand what was the motivation for making such comments:

Lukaku making demands through his agent that the club doesn't big him up enough, therefore the big clubs aren't showing interest? Obviously we would need something in return for this, so as part of the contract negotiations he will only sign if comments are made and a lower buy out clause inserted. Unlikely.

Other agents reporting back that we hold players back when bigger clubs come calling, so to attract those type players he is making it known that Everton isn't a final stop for the best ones? Possible but not really much to gain.

Downplay expectation levels and player sales? Probable but still better ways of saying it.

He's just got no delicate way of getting across his words and this is why he rubs people up the wrong way. Granted it can't be easy as English isn't his first language but he needs to get better and fast.

All he had to come out and say 'we as club need to make strides forward quickly or else our best players will look to join teams that are in the CL and are competing for trophies'. Simples.

But no, he had to make a direct comparison between us and Barca, well here is a news flash for you, Lukaku would struggle to make it on to the bench nevermind the team! He is our best striker but he isn't the finished article yet, he still misses far too many good scoring opportunities and he has had two bites at Chelsea and couldn't score, imagine the pressure if he went to a bigger club again.

Your job is to make Lukaku a better player while he is here so maybe we'll have some more points on the board and be closer to the club's he may be thinking of joining.

I'm sure Leicester won the league with Ranieri constantly yapping to all their players that this is just a stop gap. A team is greater than the sum of it's parts, if anyone thinks they're too good for Everton everyone knows what they can do, it rhymes with duck off.
