Ronald Koeman discussion

Either way it would be an improvement upon the last two seasons.

I'm sure the achievement isn't just 'top half' though...
If we failed to get a EL spot and finished 7th-9th, it'd be a matter of shrugging shoulders and saying "that's acceptable for this season, need to get into the EL spot at least next season".

But it's not an achievement at all. Not one bit of it. We may as well get Moyesie back if that's what we're setting out to "achieve".

What team do you think Ronald (no middle name) Koeman will put out to play Swansea on Saturday mate?

Wrong amigo, did i want him? No. Did i support him? Yes. Did I want to chase him out of Goodison Park when it became evident that he had no idea what he was doing and had Samuel Eto'o playing left wing at Newcastle and overseeing some of the worst displays of football? Yes.

The vaults are their pal, crack on :coffee:

Go and use them then...and post them in the Martinez thread.

You feel the need to defend this feller after what he's said? You're welcome to.

I'd say he can only get away with that if he's pulling up trees here and getting us extraordinary results and league positions. He isn't.

But, on the other hand Dave, this season could be the worst his team performs as he's using a different managers team, and for the most part is yet to stamp his style on the play. It may well only be next year that we see what a Koeman team can really do.

Bit like Martinez really

Let's hope so.

In the long week since last weekend he...

presided over one of the worst defeats we've suffered in the past 20 years
got involved in a ridiculous club v country dispute in the media
told everyone we're not a club to fulfill ambitions with
triumphantly tweeted himself next to his brand new £60k Jaguar
said that he wants to be managing Holland asap
described challenging for a EL spot as an achievement

....and the worst thing is that there isn't anyone at that club willing or able to take him one side and say "just STFU", so we can expect this to carry on.
He could sit in our dugout wearing an RS top. And I'd still prefer him to martinez. He actually made me not enjoy going the match- the queg
