I'm sure the achievement isn't just 'top half' though...

If we failed to get a EL spot and finished 7th-9th, it'd be a matter of shrugging shoulders and saying "that's acceptable for this season, need to get into the EL spot at least next season".

But it's not an achievement at all. Not one bit of it. We may as well get Moyesie back if that's what we're setting out to "achieve".

In his first season, with the current side we have? Yes Dave it is a reasonable achievement/ambition to have.

Achievement is perhaps an overstatement but it's a step in the right direction/minimum expectation.

I'd say he can only get away with that if he's pulling up trees here and getting us extraordinary results and league positions. He isn't.

But, on the other hand Dave, this season could be the worst his team performs as he's using a different managers team, and for the most part is yet to stamp his style on the play. It may well only be next year that we see what a Koeman team can really do.
