Ronald Koeman discussion

If, like me, you often get annoyed at some of our fans being entitled moaning old farts then get on Leicester City fans on Twitter.

FURIOUS that they lost a dead rubber game after topping their Champions League group with a game to spare, and with the possibility of drawing Real Madrid on Friday. Leicester City fans. Leicester. City.

What a world we live in.

It's more depressing when you consider that those long balls are aimed at Rom who can't control long balls.
That's my frustration with Lukaku why, why, why, cant he control them, he has the height and muscle strength to not be bullied into bad touches. Its not like he a small weak player.

@davek

I'm going back a few posts here but I disagree Koeman is making us hoof ballers as a reaction to what the fans want. Literally every blue I've spoken to after the united game was dead annoyed that it was Williams punting it forward all the time.

As for Koeman's reasons for going hoof, he must just have little faith in his midfielders. I'm not fully excusing him for that because it's his job to get them playing but I just hope once he's brought in a few more of his players we'll actually see the team getting the ball down and playing.

I'm caught in two minds on the guy atm, obviously he needs to be given time like all managers but at the same time he's one of the highest paid managers in the league so you'd expect him to be able to work with what he's got to some degree. I'm leaning towards the former of those points of course but I guess I just need to see some sort of performance from the team soon.

Size doesnt really matter. I am a "big unit" and I was horrendous in the air in my playing days etc.

I think its a mental thing more than anything. Like he is thinking too far ahead and forgets to do the basic side. He has shown that he can have a good touch at times so its not like he cant do it.

Maybe, but having the strength to hold off a defender when the ball is coming into you is definitely an advantage, rather than an over powering center half forcing you into a bad touch.
His bad touches seem to be when he goes towards the ball closely marked. He should try the Anichebe style off backing right into the defender and forcing him back before the ball has arrived at his feet.

Oh I agree, what I am saying is just because he is big doesnt mean he is as strong as he looks.

Lukaku needs to learn from Anichebe. That's an..... interesting one....

I do get what you mean though.

Haha, you know what i mean mate. In no way am i saying Anichebe is a better player than Lukaku (far from it), but the way he uses his strength is.

He's just not that kind of player. He's a finisher. That's not a bad thing if we could play to his strengths though. We should've signed Benteke in the summer and played with 2 up front.
