Wow it's clear to see Barca means alot to him. I hope he has learned from his time at Everton he needs to work hard and being a big name is not enough to survive a results focused business.

I think “got sacked by Everton” is undercooking it a little bit. You could well argue that he completely destroyed the club. Him and Walsh left a smouldering pile of ash behind them that will take decades to clean up.
Koemann was a ridiculous appointment in hindsight, because he made it quite clear that he had no intention of staying at Everton in the long term, which was made even more ludicrous by Moshiri giving him huge amounts of money to spend. Moyes and Martinez had far less money and got far better results. If you look at players like Howard, Baines, Lescott, Jags, Coleman, Arteta, Pienaar, Felaini, Cahill, Stones, Lukaku, Gerry all of them contributed far more than the players Koemann bought. The way he ruined Barkleys confidence was simply disgusting and his treatment of Niasse.

Even in his first season we were appalling, the performances against the likes of Burnley, Southampton, Swansea, Chelsea, Liverpool, Watford and Arsenal were some of the worst performances I've ever seen watching Everton. We got a goal back at Arsenal and then preceded to spend the last 35 minutes playing like we were 4-0 up, they had no interest in scoring. Signing Rooney, Klassen, Sigurdsson who all play in almost identical positions, while at the same time failing to replace Lukaku was unforgivable. Ridiculous signings like Bolaise, the Snide and Ashley Williams were made by him, some of the worst players to play for Everton. When Sandro came on against Chelsea at half time once, it was literally like, they'd just picked some random fella from the Paddock and given him a chance, I don't think he touched the ball when he came on.

Unlike most it seems I don't hate Koeman.

Obviously didn't work here and I have never thought he was a particularly outstanding manager but good luck to him I suppose.

I don't think I can fully hate someone who was such a good footballer (none RS obviously...)

I've made some questionable decisions in my life but this clearly only ends in tears. Barcelona are a fading force, Messi is past his best (still brilliant of course but getting on), they have elections next year....

Why leave the dutch squad when it's as good as it has been in a long time?

I don't care though. Hope he messes it right up.

I would assume the Barcelona job pays a massive amount more than the Netherlands job.

I doubt he is that desperate for the money. Haven't we been paying him since he left as well? As a dutchman I would have thought he would have wanted to take them to the euros. He didn't always strike me as the decent type though. Bit weird.....

There were rumours at the time when he signed the contract he just drew a cock and bollocks with an arrow pointing to it saying "you hahaha" and handed it back to Moshiri.
